Job Position: The Manager - Operational Risk & Fintech Partnership

Job Summary:

Reem Finance is seeking a dynamic The Manager – Operational Risk will be responsible for developing, implementing, and monitoring the operational risk management framework within the bank. The role includes oversight of operational risk events, risk control self-assessments (RCSAs), incident management, and key risk indicators (KRIs).

A key focus of this role will be to assess and manage risks arising from third-party arrangements, with special emphasis on fintech partnerships and outsourced service providers, ensuring compliance with Central Bank of the UAE (CBUAE) regulations and internal governance standards. With a minimum of years' banking experience in operational risk, preferably in banking or financial services.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Operational Risk Management

  • Implement and maintain the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF) in line with regulatory and internal requirements.
  • Conduct and update RCSAs across business units, identifying key operational risks and assessing control effectiveness.
  • Monitor, investigate, and report operational risk incidents, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Develop and track Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) to provide early warning signals of emerging risks.
  • Support Internal Audit and regulatory examinations by providing risk assessments, documentation, and evidence of control testing.

Third-Party & Fintech Risk Oversight

  • Lead risk assessments for all third-party service providers, with a strong emphasis on fintech partners.
  • Perform due diligence and ongoing monitoring of outsourcing arrangements and fintech collaborations.
  • Evaluate risks relating to data security, business continuity, service delivery, compliance, and financial stability in third-party engagements.
  • Ensure alignment with CBUAE Outsourcing Regulations and relevant fintech risk management guidelines.
  • Maintain a third-party risk register and escalate material risks to senior management.

Governance & Reporting

  • Prepare and present periodic operational risk reports to senior management and Risk Committees
  • Support the embedding of a strong risk culture across the bank through awareness and training sessions.
  • Collaborate with Compliance, Information Security, and Business Units to ensure end-to-end risk coverage.

Required Qualifications and Education

· Bachelor's degree in finance, Risk Management, Business Administration, or related field (Master's preferred).

· Strong knowledge of operational risk frameworks and tools (RCSA, KRIs, Incident Management).

· Expertise in third-party and fintech risk assessments.

· Regulatory awareness and compliance mindset.

· Ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with multiple stakeholders.

· Strong understanding of CBUAE regulations, Basel standards, and risk management best practices.

· Analytical skills with the ability to assess complex processes and identify control gaps.

· Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and report-writing skills.

Work Experience:

  • 8 - 10 years' banking experience in operational risk, preferably in banking or financial services.
