The Accounts Assistant is responsible for preparing and reviewing financial documents, reports, and statements. He /She oversees all accounting procedures (e.g., tax returns, month-end closures, budgeting) and advises on general financial matters.

· To support the accounting department with the day-to-day functions.

· To provide timely financial information.

· To ensure compliance with the applicable financial guidelines.

Expectations & Responsibilities related to your role

1. GENERAL ACCOUNTING

· Perform basic accounting tasks, such as filing, data entry, bank reconciliation.

· Work with spreadsheets, sales and purchase ledgers and journals.

· Collect payments and update accounts payable and receivable records.

· Assist with preparation of financial and statistical statements and reports.

· Record and file cash transactions.

· Handle communications with clients and vendors via phone, email, and in-person.

· Process transactions, issue checks, and update ledgers, budgets, etc.

· Prepare financial reports.

· Assist with audits, fact checks, and resolve discrepancies.

· Maintain confidentiality of all financial data.

Education and Training

· Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related field – Masters desirable.

· Excellent communication skills.

· Strong software skills - Microsoft Office.

· Ability to multitask and remain motivated and positive.

· Analytical thinker and problem solver.

· Excellent command of written and spoken English.

Experience

· Familiar with basic accounting principles.

· Ability to work as part of a team and take directions accurately.

· In innovative practices locally or internationally or reputable local practices - highly desirable.

· 1-2 years of Experience
