Job Summary

The Platform Engineering Manager is responsible for leading the design, development, and operation of scalable, reliable, and secure internal platforms that enable engineering teams to build, deploy, and run applications efficiently. This role bridges software engineering and infrastructure, focusing on developer experience, automation, cloud platforms, and operational excellence. The Platform Engineering Manager leads a team of platform engineers and collaborates closely with product, security, and infrastructure teams.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the platform engineering team, providing technical guidance and career development.
  • Design, build, and maintain internal developer platforms, tooling, and shared services.
  • Drive adoption of DevOps and platform best practices.
  • Ensure high availability, performance, scalability, and security of platform services.
  • Collaborate with application teams to understand requirements and improve developer experience.
  • Define and maintain CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure-as-code (IaC) practices.
  • Establish monitoring, logging, and alerting standards for platform services.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure and container platforms (e.g., Kubernetes).
  • Implement security-by-design and compliance controls into the platform.
  • Plan capacity, reliability, and disaster recovery strategies.
  • Manage vendors and third-party tools as needed.
  • Own platform roadmaps, documentation, and operational processes.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in software, infrastructure, or platform engineering.
  • 2+ years of experience in a technical leadership or management role.
  • Strong experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
  • Experience with containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, Jenkins).
  • Experience with infrastructure as code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of networking, security, and reliability engineering.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: AED420,000.00 per year
