- WordPress Development: Understanding of WordPress architecture, theme development, and plugin integration.
- HTML, CSS, JavaScript: Fundamental front-end languages for customizing themes and creating interactive elements.
- PHP: WordPress is built on PHP, so proficiency in PHP is essential for customizing functionalities and creating custom themes or plugins.
- MySQL or Database Management: Knowledge of database systems for managing WordPress database queries and configurations.
- WordPress APIs and Hooks: Ability to leverage WordPress APIs and hooks for extending functionalities and creating custom features.
- Version Control (Git): Proficiency in version control systems like Git for managing WordPress codebase and collaborating with a team.
- SEO Principles: Understanding of SEO best practices to optimize WordPress sites for better visibility and ranking.
- Security Practices: Knowledge of WordPress security best practices to secure the site against vulnerabilities and potential threats.
- Update and Maintenance: Ability to perform regular updates, backups, and maintenance tasks to ensure the WordPress site’s security and functionality.
- Responsive Design: Ability to create responsive WordPress themes that work well on various devices and screen sizes.
- Troubleshooting and Debugging: Strong debugging skills to identify and resolve issues that may arise during development or maintenance.
- Performance Optimization: Skills to optimize WordPress sites for speed and performance using caching, minification, and other techniques.
- Plugin Customization and Integration: Experience in customizing existing plugins or integrating third-party plugins to meet specific site requirements.
