Group Assistant Manager, Insurance

To assist the Group Insurance team in managing insurance claims effectively, fire impairments, IT systems and general admin from BU’s.

**JOB ACCOUNTABILITIES**:

- Will review all new reported claims as logged in Risk Management Information System (IRM) and be responsible for producing reports from the system.
- Claims Handling for property claims - Coordinate with loss adjuster, operational units, insurers, legal an any other appropriate authority and ensuring all required claims details (e.g., internal incident report, police report, security details, legal proceedings etc.) are avaible for review and processing of claim.
- Coordinate with liability claims TPA to ensure all claims are managed as per agreements and claims reports are provided as agreed.
- To monitor and support entire claims process across certain policies and coordinate the management of losses, investigate loss trends, and develop appropriate recommendations for loss prevention.
- Manage, drive and maintain the process of accurate collection of up-to-date claims data, to provide monthly reports to management on claims status and ensure continuous follow-up on open claims.
- Liaise with business units to effectively support the insurance function that is of key importance to support the Insurers’ mission to make the group's terminal and logistics industry safer and more secure.
- Review, and consolidate claims information and analysis to present loss trends
- Managing global fire impairments reporting.
- Ensure effective relationships internally and externally to streamline the gathering of data.
- Participate in renewal strategy meetings and support Group insurance team.
- Coordinating production of annual claims and insurance manuals of Department placements every year.
- IRM overall system performance management.
- Generate accurate reporting from IRM and ensure the system meets user needs, usability, and overall user experience - obtain user satisfaction score to have an overview of the effectiveness of the system.
- Manage IRM user account creation and utilization.
- Continuous monitoring and improvement of the IRM system's functionality and effectiveness.
- Carry out any additional analytical tasks and special projects as assigned.
- Act as an ambassador for DP World always when working; promoting and demonstrating positive behaviours in harmony with DP World’s Principles, values and culture; ensuring the highest level of safety is applied in all activities; understanding and following DP World’s Code of Conduct and Ethics policies. Enhance DP World’s profile in the global ports and terminals industry in relation to handling equipment, infrastructure & business interruption matters (including participation in industry associations)
- Assist with compliance with legal, financial, and contractual insurance obligations and assist ERM team in advising and monitoring risk as per companies ERM framework.
- Perform other related duties as assigned

**KEY DELIVERABLES**:
Provide monthly reports on the following:

- Claims
- Claims aging (outstanding)
- Ensure IRM dashboards reflect current data
- Others as required
- Ensure all required information is up-to-date and easy to understand.

**QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS**:

- Tertiary qualification in relevant degree or significant experience in insurance claims and risk management information systems.
- At least 5 years of experience in a corporate insurance environment, preferably within in a ports/terminal/ logistic environment.
- At least 3 of above 5-years’ experience to be relevant to claims management.
- Ability to work well in both a team environment and independently
- High ethical standards with strong presentation and facilitation skills, both externally and at all levels of the organisation.
- Sound knowledge of insurance principles and law.
- Excellent planning and organizational skills - ability to handle multiple priorities, organise work and meet deadlines.
- Self-motivated individual, ability to build relationships outside and within the organization.
- Strong English language skills required (both verbal and written), other languages are a plus.
- A high level of expertise on Excel
- Analytical background preferable
