**Role Overview**

The **Quantity Surveyor** will be responsible for managing **cost estimation, tendering, budgeting, and financial control** for steel and stainless steel fabrication projects. The role requires expertise in metal fabrication pricing, BOQ (Bill of Quantities) preparation, and cost monitoring from tender to project completion.

The position is **remote-based**, requiring excellent self-management, communication, and coordination skills with the project, design, and procurement teams.

**Key Responsibilities**
- **Cost Estimation & BOQ Preparation**:

- Prepare detailed BOQs for **structural steel, stainless steel, and architectural metal works** based on drawings and specifications.
- Analyze fabrication drawings and extract quantities accurately.
- Price materials, labor, fabrication, and installation costs.
- **Tender & Proposal Management**:

- Prepare competitive tender submissions, cost breakdowns, and proposals for projects.
- Coordinate with suppliers and subcontractors to obtain competitive quotes.
- **Project Cost Control**:

- Monitor project costs and track variations/change orders.
- Maintain cost reports and update forecasts throughout the project lifecycle.
- **Procurement Support**:

- Assist in sourcing steel and stainless steel materials at competitive prices.
- Prepare procurement schedules aligned with project timelines.
- **Contract & Payment Administration**:

- Review and verify contractor/supplier invoices against completed works.
- **Collaboration**:

- Work closely with project managers, engineers, and designers to ensure accuracy in material take-offs.
- Liaise with clients to clarify project scope and commercial terms.

**Qualifications & Skills**
- **Education**: Bachelor’s degree in Quantity Surveying, Civil Engineering, or related field.
- **Experience**: Minimum **3-5 years** experience in quantity surveying for steel and stainless steel fabrication (structural & non-structural).
- Strong understanding of fabrication processes, welding, finishing, and installation.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting **fabrication/shop drawings**.
- Knowledge of **international standards** for steel and stainless steel works.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and reporting skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in measurements.
- Proficient in MS Excel, AutoCAD, and QS software.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently from home.
