Open Position: Tax Associate
As a Tax Associate on our VAT team, you will be involved in providing comprehensive VAT compliance, planning, and advisory services to our clients. You will collaborate with senior team members and clients to ensure accurate and timely VAT filings, identify optimization opportunities, and navigate complex VAT regulations.
**Key Responsibilities**:
**VAT Compliance**:
Prepare and file VAT returns, ensuring accuracy and compliance with relevant regulations.
Conduct thorough VAT compliance reviews for clients, identifying potential issues and recommending corrective actions.
**VAT Advisory**:
Provide expert advice on VAT implications for business transactions and structures.
Assist clients with VAT planning strategies to optimize their VAT positions and minimize liabilities.
Support clients during VAT audits and investigations, preparing necessary documentation and liaising with tax authorities.
**Research and Analysis**:
Conduct in-depth research on VAT laws and regulations, staying current with legislative changes and industry developments.
Analyze the impact of new VAT regulations on clients and provide actionable insights.
**Client Interaction**:
Build and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor for VAT-related matters.
Participate in client meetings and presentations, explaining complex VAT concepts in a clear and concise manner.
Collaborate with clients to gather necessary information and ensure timely submission of VAT returns and reports.
**Team Collaboration**:
Work closely with senior team members and other departments to deliver integrated tax solutions.
Contribute to the development of best practices and internal processes for VAT services.
**Qualifications and Experience**:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional qualification (e.g., CPA, CTA) is a plus.
Minimum 1 year of experience in VAT or indirect tax.
In-depth understanding of VAT laws, regulations, and compliance requirements.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and tax software.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex tax concepts to clients.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
