The InterContinental® Ras Al Khaimah Mina Al Arab Resort and Spa is scheduled to open Q3 2021 and we are now seeking a highly organized, full of passion, as well as friendly and charming Banquet & Conference Manager to be responsible for setting up, leading, and managing the conference and events services in the resort.

The resort will comprise 351 keys, a health club, a spa, and two pools. Covering an area of 43,770 sqm, the resort is a short drive from famous archaeological sites such as Dhayah Fort and Sheba’s Palace. Set on a headland surrounded by protected coastal wetlands with lush landscaping fronting a sweeping beach on one side and a manmade waterway on the other, the guest rooms, suites, and chalets offer panoramic water views.
**Your day to day**
The role’s primary responsibility is to manage the event operations to obtain maximum profit and maximum guest and colleague satisfaction through the consistent delivery of services and colleague communication at all levels. While we are on a opening transitioning phase, some of your main role responsibilities are:

- Monitor budget and control expenses with a focus on food, beverage, and labor costs
- In partnership with the Culinary Department, identify additional sales opportunities to enhance revenue. Drive promotions that deliver great dining experiences for guests at a good value.
- Supervise the construction, design, and setting up phases of events center and provide input on service areas
- Assist Director of F&B with procurement regarding the available well as required resources
- Suggest any new ideas important for the successful opening of relevant facilities
- Assist Director of F&B to understand and design available or required Standard Operating Procedures for ways of working in own team
- Implement operational manuals, brand service standards and job descriptions for Banquet & Conference operations
- Assist Director of F&B to recruit key members of own team as per IHG People tools in collaboration with Director of Human Resources
- Ensure that the facilities are well set up, logistics are available and the right quality of human resources are recruited, trained, and made enthusiastically ready for the opening as per deadlines from Owning company, IHG, and General Manager

**What we need from you**
In order to be considered for this role, ideally, you'll have some or all of the following competencies and experience we're looking for:

- Preferably qualification in Hospitality Management.
- 2-3 years’ experience in a similar position or a related field with a proven record of accomplishment or success.
- Experience in a 5-star luxury resort and destination wedding are essential.
- Vast technical and financial skills, detailed knowledge of food and beverage is essential for this role as well as a proven track record in launching new concepts and promotions, training, and developing staff.
- Excellent written and spoken communication skills in English, particularly to deal effectively with people from diverse backgrounds.
- High level of energy and drive to achieve operational and business goals
