**Job Purpose**

The Chief Accountant is responsible for overseeing the complete financial and accounting function, ensuring compliance with IFRS, UAE laws, VAT regulations, and company policies. This role involves supervising the accounts team, managing cash flow, preparing financial statements, and ensuring accurate, timely reporting for both the used car trading and freight forwarding business lines.

**Key Responsibilities**

**1. Financial Management & Reporting**
- Prepare, review, and finalize monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
- Maintain accurate general ledger records for both business units.
- Ensure compliance with IFRS and local statutory requirements.
- Prepare management reports, including profitability analysis for used car sales and freight forwarding services.
- Oversee intercompany reconciliations and consolidation where applicable.

**2. Accounts Payable & Receivable**
- Monitor and control supplier payments, ensuring timely settlement.
- Review customer receivables, aging reports, and implement effective credit control measures.
- Verify freight forwarding client billing and ensure accurate shipment-related invoicing.
- Oversee car purchase invoices, customs clearance documentation, and auction-related expenses.

**3. Cost Control & Profitability Analysis**
- Monitor vehicle acquisition costs (purchase price, shipping, customs duty, registration fees) and calculate landed costs accurately.
- Review freight forwarding job profitability, including freight charges, handling fees, and other related costs.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities in procurement, shipping, and operations.

**4. Taxation & Compliance**
- Ensure accurate VAT calculation, filing, and payment for both trading and freight activities.
- Maintain compliance with UAE tax laws, customs regulations, and AML/KYC requirements (especially for high-value vehicle transactions).
- Liaise with external auditors, banks, and government authorities.

**5. Cash Flow & Treasury Management**
- Monitor daily cash position, bank balances, and post-dated cheques.
- Forecast cash flow requirements based on vehicle purchases, freight payments, and operational needs.
- Manage foreign currency transactions and bank facilities.

**6. Internal Controls & Audit**
- Implement and maintain strong internal controls to safeguard company assets.
- Ensure all transactions are supported by proper documentation.
- Conduct periodic internal audits for both car trading and freight forwarding departments.

**7. Team Management**
- Supervise, train, and evaluate the accounting team.
- Coordinate work distribution for both business segments.
- Ensure smooth month-end and year-end closing.

**Qualifications & Skills**
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA, CMA, or ACCA preferred).
- Minimum 5-7 years of accounting experience, with at least 3 years in a senior role.
- Prior experience in **used car trading**, **automotive import/export**, or **freight forwarding/logistics** is highly desirable.
- Strong knowledge of IFRS, UAE VAT laws, and customs regulations.
- Proficient in ERP systems (SAP B1, Tally, or similar) and MS Excel.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and leadership skills.

**KPIs (Key Performance Indicators)**
- Accuracy & timeliness of financial reporting.
- Effective cash flow management and working capital optimization.
- VAT compliance with zero penalties.
- Reduction in overdue receivables.
- Cost savings achieved in procurement and operations.

Pay: AED5,000.00 - AED6,000.00 per month
