**Job Summary**:
The Health, Safety, and Environmental Officer (HSEO) is responsible for overseeing the university's health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing and developing health and safety guidelines and assisting university personnel in understanding occupational health and safety hazards, providing training as necessary. The HSEO also provides regular reports to the Health, Safety and Risk Management Committee ensuring compliance with licensure and accreditation standards.

**Job Purpose & Responsibilities**

The Health, Safety, and Environmental Officer (HSEO) is responsible for overseeing the university's health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures. The incumbent is responsible for reviewing and developing health and safety guidelines and assisting university personnel in understanding occupational health and safety hazards, providing training as necessary. The HSEO also provides regular reports to the Health, Safety and Risk Management Committee ensuring compliance with licensure and accreditation standards.

**Minimum Qualification and Education**
- Bachelor’s Degree OR 2 Year Higher Diploma in Safety Management / Electrical / Mechanical
- National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) certification or acceptable IOSH/OHSAS Certificate from a reputable Institute.

**Required Knowledge and Skills**
- Extensive knowledge of environmental regulations and policies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Proficient in technology and equipment used in environmental inspections
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software
- Fluency in written and spoken English is essential
- Knowledge of Arabic is desirable

**Work Experience**

A minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in a role related to health and safety, preferably in an educational environment.

**Language proficiency required**
