**Plumbing foreman : Duties and Responsibilities**

**Project Supervision**
- Oversee and coordinate the laying, installation, testing, and commissioning of underground drainage piping systems.
- Supervise the layout of pipes inside trenches, ensuring proper alignment, slope, and adherence to design specifications.
- Manage the installation of pump room piping and pump systems, ensuring compliance with manufacturer recommendations and project standards.

**Workforce Management**
- Lead and direct a team of plumbers, pipefitters, and laborers to execute daily tasks efficiently.
- Assign duties to team members and monitor performance to ensure project timelines and quality standards are met.
- Provide on-site training and guidance to workers on best practices and safety protocols.

**Quality Assurance**
- Inspect completed work to ensure proper installation and alignment of piping and pumps.
- Conduct pre-commissioning checks and final testing to confirm system functionality.
- Ensure adherence to project specifications, codes, and safety standards.

**Materials and Tools Management**
- Monitor the inventory of plumbing materials, tools, and equipment required for the project.
- Coordinate with the procurement team to ensure timely delivery of materials.
- Ensure tools and equipment are properly maintained and calibrated for accurate performance.

**Coordination and Communication**
- Collaborate with engineers, project managers, and other trades to ensure seamless integration of plumbing systems with other infrastructure elements.
- Attend project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
- Communicate project updates, potential delays, and resource needs to site management.

**Safety and Compliance**
- Ensure that all plumbing work adheres to relevant safety and environmental regulations.
- Implement and enforce site safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Identify and mitigate risks associated with underground and pump room installations.

**Documentation and Reporting**
- Maintain accurate records of work progress, material usage, and testing/commissioning results.
- Prepare daily and weekly reports for submission to project management.
- Document any design changes, field modifications, or issues encountered during the project.

**Plumbing Foreman : Requirements**
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training or certification in plumbing, pipefitting, or related fields is preferred.
- Experience
- 10 years of experience in plumbing, with at least 5 years in a foreman or supervisory role.
- Proven track record in infrastructure projects involving underground drainage systems, trench piping, and pump installations.
- In-depth knowledge of plumbing systems, materials, and installation techniques, particularly for underground and pump room piping.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and specifications.
- Proficiency in using plumbing tools, equipment, and testing instruments.
- Familiarity with industry standards and codes related to drainage systems and pump installations.
- Ability to lead a team and manage diverse tasks on-site effectively.
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills to address on-site challenges.
- Excellent verbal and written communication to coordinate with teams and stakeholders.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to workers and management clearly.
- Effective time management to prioritize tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Attention to detail in supervising the installation and testing of plumbing systems.
- Understanding of underground drainage piping systems, including materials like PVC, HDPE, and concrete pipes.
- Knowledge of trenching practices, pipe laying techniques, and pump room installations.
