Position Overview:
A Yacht Painter is responsible for the surface preparation, painting, and refinishing of yachts and other marine vessels. This role requires a skilled individual with a keen eye for detail, expertise in various painting techniques, and the ability to work with different types of coatings and materials to ensure the yacht's appearance and protection are maintained at the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Surface Preparation: Thoroughly prepare yacht surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, and removing any existing coatings or imperfections. This process ensures a smooth and clean surface, allowing for better paint adhesion.

Mixing and Matching Paints: Prepare and mix paint to the desired color and consistency, ensuring it meets the specifications and requirements of the yacht owner or manufacturer.

Coating Selection: Assist in selecting the appropriate coatings and materials, taking into consideration factors such as environmental conditions, vessel material, and owner preferences.

Refinishing and Touch-Ups: Perform refinishing and touch-up work as needed, maintaining the yacht's appearance and protecting it from harsh marine conditions.

Quality Control: Inspect the painted surfaces to ensure they meet quality standards and make any necessary adjustments or repairs to achieve the desired finish.

Health and Safety: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines when handling hazardous materials, paints, and chemicals. Ensure a safe working environment for oneself and fellow team members.

Equipment Maintenance: Regularly clean, maintain, and properly store painting tools and equipment to ensure they remain in good working condition.

Record Keeping: Maintain accurate records of painting work, materials used, and any specific details relevant to the job.

Skills and Qualifications:

- Proven experience as a yacht painter or marine painter, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- In-depth knowledge of different types of paints, coatings, and surface preparation methods.
- Familiarity with marine-specific paint products and their properties.
- Attention to detail and the ability to produce a flawless finish.
- Strong understanding of health and safety protocols when working with paints and chemicals.
- Physical dexterity and the ability to work in various weather conditions.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing project requirements and schedules.
- Certification or training in painting or related fields may be an advantage.
