Job Title: Senior Python Backend Developer Location: Dubai Summary: Seeking a skilled Senior Python Backend Developer for enterprise-grade systems, integrating platforms, ensuring scalability, collaborating with teams, and based full-time in Dubai. Description: We seek a highly skilled Senior Python Backend Developer to join our dynamic team and design and develop critical systems for enterprise-grade applications. Your role will include integrating our systems with third-party platforms to process complex data workflows and developing infrastructure for future projects and apps, ranging from behavioral science automation communication systems to fintech payment gateway applications. You will be tasked with building and ensuring scalable solutions to support big data analytics. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, you will align backend solutions with business goals while adhering to best practices for data integrity and security. Work with one of the fitness industry's technology pioneers, collaborating with intelligent engineers at every level—from engineers to the CTO. You will be based full-time at our head office in Dubai. Platforms you might be exposed to include: - AWS EC2, S3, PostgreSQL RDS - Salesforce - Marketing Cloud - Python-based backend systems, Django, FastAPI, and custom frameworks - Extensive API integrations - Tableau business visualization - AI/ML-centric systems/pipelines Who You Are: - You love technology and working with brilliant people. - You are an accomplished senior Python programmer who enjoys challenging projects in mission-critical environments. - You like to innovate, have a voice, and build new applications and systems. - You embrace change in project types from time to time. - You are experienced with modern infrastructure deployment automation or systems administration, operations, and package management. - You are passionate about quality. - You live in Dubai. Requirements: - 3+ years of professional back-end software engineering experience in Python. - Some knowledge or experience in Kafka and Spark. - Firm grasp of SQL; PostgreSQL preferred. - Strong knowledge of database architecture, query optimization, and data warehousing principles. - Preferred experience with business intelligence visualization on Tableau. - Experience working with queuing systems such as RabbitMQ, Celery, and Redis. - Experience with cloud-hosted infrastructure and technologies; AWS EC2, RDS, S3 preferred. - Experience working on high-traffic backends is preferred. - I have been on at least one 'death march' and know exactly why some things should be avoided. - Strong understanding of design patterns, including asynchronous programming, queuing, logging, security, and persistence. - Good understanding of build process management and continuous integration. - Mastery of testing methodologies (unit tests, component tests, integration tests, etc.). - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
