Job Description Job Purpose: - The Power &Water Models Specialist is responsible for assisting the Power & Water Model Senior Specialist with power and water modeling work within the modeling team, as well as developing, operating, maintaining, and updating the assigned power and water models. - The Power &Water Models Specialist will be in charge of carrying out benchmarking exercises on the assigned models and ensuring that the recommendations are implemented as directed. - The Power &Water Models Specialist will be responsible for operationalizing the data management and analysis governance framework(s), ensuring adherence to the same in performing the various tasks and assignments, and proposing any changes to Management. - The Power & Water Models Senior Specialist will assist in preparing the modeling and assessment requirements for the requests raised to assist Management in responding to such with the results of the models used. Job-specific Responsibilities: - Lead on developing and maintaining the governance framework(s) of the relevant power and water modeling works and propose modifications for enhancements and improvements. - Lead on developing, operating, maintaining, and updating the power and water models assigned with the available model input data. - Support the ADEO 2050, WO 2050, and IEPF update work through the results of the power and water models. - Assist in completing impact assessment work for the power and water modeling projects and submit it to management as needed. - Support the benchmarking exercises of the power and water models and ensure implementation of the recommendations and improvement areas. - Assist key stakeholders with the administrative aspects of electricity and water modeling. - Support on the power and water models input data alignment works. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in energy Engineering, or Economics, etc. Experience: At least 3-5 years of related experience (energy sector modeling/electricity and water sector modeling, data management, policy development, etc.). Experience with energy modeling tools (e.g., PLEXOS, AURORA, TIMES, or any other tool developed and used by reputable global organizations).
