Job Description Senior Data Manager Abu Dhabi (relocation essential if not already based in Abu Dhabi). An ambitious public-sector organisation is undertaking a major data and AI transformation and we're looking for a senior leader to take ownership of the strategy, architecture, and delivery of a modern Azure data platform. This role is ideal for someone who thrives at enterprise scale and wants to shape how data is used to power analytics, AI, and real-time decision-making across a complex organisation. Responsibilities: - Lead the design and delivery of a secure, scalable Azure data platform (ADF, Databricks or equivalent) - Define and execute an enterprise data strategy, moving from ad-hoc reporting to fully governed, productised data services - Drive migration from legacy data warehouses and ETL (SQL Server, Teradata, Hadoop, SSIS) to modern Azure architectures - Build domain-aligned data products, marts, and semantic layers supporting BI, AI, and real-time analytics at >100TB scale - Champion a data-as-a-product operating model (ownership, SLAs, lineage, observability) - Implement strong data quality, security, and FinOps practices - Lead and mentor cross-functional data engineering and analytics teams Candidate requirements: - 68+ years in data engineering / data platform leadership - 5+ years architecting Azure-based data platforms - Deep hands-on experience with ADF, Databricks/Spark, Delta, Data Lake Gen2 - Experience delivering enterprise data strategies and large-scale migrations - Strong SQL plus Python/Scala for orchestration and data quality - Exposure to streaming/event-driven architectures (Kafka/Event Hubs) - Proven people leader with a product- and outcome-focused mindset - Experience in finance or regulated environments is a strong advantage Qualified candidates should apply to register their interest.
