Manager Finance and Accounts (US GAAP and IFRS) – Manufacturing

You are responsible for overseeing all aspects of financial reporting for a manufacturing company, ensuring accurate financial statements are produced in accordance with both US Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), while managing day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, receivable, and general ledger functions, with a strong focus on compliance and internal controls within the manufacturing sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Financial Reporting:

1. Prepare and review accurate financial statements (balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement) under both US GAAP and IFRS standards for internal and external reporting purposes.
2. Lead the month-end and year-end closing process, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
3. Analyze financial data to identify trends, provide insights, and support strategic decision-making.
4. Prepare and submit regulatory filings to relevant authorities.

Accounting Operations:

1. Manage the general ledger function, ensuring proper classification and posting of transactions.
2. Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, including vendor reconciliation and customer collections.
3. Monitor and maintain internal controls to safeguard assets and prevent fraud.
4. Review and approve journal entries, ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

Compliance and Audit Support:

1. Coordinate with external auditors to facilitate a smooth audit process and address any audit findings.
2. Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards, including US GAAP and IFRS, and stay updated on any changes.
3. Monitor compliance with SOX regulations, if applicable.

Manufacturing Specific Responsibilities:

1. Understand and account for complex manufacturing processes, including inventory management, cost accounting, and production variances.
2. Analyze manufacturing costs to identify areas for cost reduction and operational efficiency.
3. Collaborate with production teams to ensure accurate cost reporting and inventory valuation.

Skills:

1. CA or CPA or CWA with a minimum of 5+ years of experience and a strong understanding of US GAAP and IFRS accounting standards.
2. Extensive experience in financial reporting and analysis within a manufacturing environment.
3. Proven leadership and team management skills.
4. Proficiency in ERP systems and accounting software.
5. Advanced MS Excel skills.
6. Accuracy and attention to detail coupled with aptitude for numbers and quantitative skills.
7. Ability to work independently, manage large workloads, and meet deadlines.
8. Excellent communication and analytical skills.
