8. Collaboration with Kitchen and Management:
- Work closely with the head chef and kitchen team to understand ingredient needs and seasonal requirements.
- Collaborate with restaurant management to forecast future product needs and plan for special events or promotions.
9. Compliance and Documentation:
- Ensure all purchases comply with local health, safety, and food safety regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of all transactions and deliveries for accounting purposes.
10. Market Research:
- Stay updated on market trends, pricing fluctuations, and new product offerings in the industry.
- Identify new suppliers or alternative products to improve quality and reduce costs.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
1. Proven experience as a Purchasing Manager, Buyer, or similar role in the restaurant or foodservice industry.
2. Strong negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.
3. Solid understanding of inventory management and cost control.
4. Knowledge of food safety regulations and quality standards.
5. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple tasks efficiently.
6. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
7. Familiarity with purchasing software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Qualifications:
1. A degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
2. Experience working with both local and international suppliers.
3. Knowledge of food trends and sustainable sourcing practices.
