Position The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering (CHBE) in the College of Engineering at the American University of Sharjah (AUS) invites applications for a regular faculty position or a visiting faculty position at the assistant, associate, or full professor level commencing in Fall 2026. Qualifications - PhD in Chemical or Biological Engineering or a closely related field. - Significant teaching portfolio; preference for experience in Biological Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Biochemical Engineering, or Biotechnology. - Excellence in teaching and research, and experience in the American model of higher education. The required documents are: - Cover letter. - Detailed curriculum vitae, including a teaching statement, a research statement, a list of courses that can be taught or were taught. - Names of at least three references who would be willing to write letters of recommendation. Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted. About the Department The Department of Chemical and Biological Engineering has approximately 200 undergraduate students, 15 graduate students, 12 full‑time faculty and 3 lab instructors. Students and faculty represent diverse backgrounds and nationalities, with about 90 nationalities present on campus. Undergraduate and Graduate Programs The department offers a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering, a Bachelor of Science in Chemical and Biological Engineering, and a Master of Science in Chemical Engineering. About AUS AUS is located in the Emirate of Sharjah (about 15 km from Dubai) and is an independent, not‑for‑profit, coeducational university serving more than 5,700 students. Accreditation AUS is licensed and its programs are accredited by the Commission for Academic Accreditation of the Ministry of Education's Higher Education Affairs Division in the United Arab Emirates. AUS has been accredited in the United States of America by the Middle States Commission on Higher Education since June 2004.
