Key Responsibilities
Transcribe dictated recordings from healthcare professionals into written reports, documents, and recordsEdit and proofread transcriptions for accuracy and completenessVerify and correct medical terminology, diagnoses, and proceduresMaintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelinesUtilize transcription software and electronic health records (EHR) systemsMeet productivity and quality standards for transcription servicesRequirements and SkillsEducation: Post-secondary education in medical transcription or a related fieldCertifications: Certification in medical transcription (RMT, CMT, or RHDS) preferredExperience: Previous experience in medical transcription or a related fieldSkills: Strong command of medical terminology Excellent listening and typing skills Attention to detail and accuracy Ability to work independently and meet productivity standards Familiarity with transcription software and EHR systems
