We are looking for a highly motivated Azure DevOps Engineer to join our team and play a pivotal role in designing, implementing, and optimizing our DevOps processes on Microsoft Azure. As an Azure DevOps Engineer, you will manage and enhance our CI/CD pipelines, streamline deployment processes, and ensure secure, scalable, and reliable cloud infrastructure. Your expertise in Azure DevOps will enable seamless collaboration between development and operations, driving continuous delivery and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

  • Azure DevOps Pipeline Management:
  • Design, implement, and manage CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps for automated builds, testing, and deployments.
  • Integrate Azure Repos, Pipelines, Artifacts, and other DevOps services to support the development lifecycle.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve pipeline and deployment issues.
  • Monitoring and Incident Management:
  • Set up and maintain monitoring and logging solutions using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and Log Analytics.
  • Respond to and resolve incidents, ensuring high availability and performance of services.
  • Collaboration and Communication:
  • Work closely with development, QA, and IT operations teams to promote a DevOps culture and enable collaboration.
  • Facilitate the adoption of DevOps best practices within the organization.
  • Security and Compliance:
  • Implement secure DevOps practices.
  • Perform vulnerability assessments and security hardening for Azure environments.
  • Optimization and Automation:
  • Identify opportunities for automation in deployment, monitoring, and scaling processes.
  • Optimize Azure DevOps workflows for better efficiency and cost-effectiveness.

Required Skills And Qualifications

  • Technical Proficiency:
  • Hands-on experience with Azure DevOps services, including Repos, Pipelines, Boards, and Artifacts.
  • Proficiency in Azure services such as Virtual Machines, App Services, and Azure Functions.
  • CI/CD Expertise:
  • Proven experience designing and managing CI/CD pipelines in Azure DevOps.
  • Familiarity with automated testing tools and practices.
  • Programming and Scripting:
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python.
  • Experience with YAML for pipeline configuration.
  • System Administration:
  • Solid understanding of Windows server administration in Azure environments.
  • Knowledge of networking and security best practices in Azure.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in Azure and Agile (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator, or Azure Solutions Architect).
  • Experience with Azure Active Directory and role-based access control (RBAC).
  • Familiarity with serverless computing and microservices architecture on Azure.
Desired candidate profile

1. CI/CD Pipeline Management

  • Implement Continuous Integration (CI): Set up automated build processes where code changes are automatically built, tested, and integrated into the shared codebase.
  • Implement Continuous Delivery/Continuous Deployment (CD): Automate the process of deploying applications to different environments (e.g., development, staging, production) with minimal manual intervention.
  • Automation of Testing: Integrate automated testing (unit tests, integration tests, and performance tests) into the CI/CD pipeline to ensure that quality is maintained throughout the development process.
  • Monitor and Optimize Pipelines: Continuously monitor the CI/CD pipeline's performance, identify bottlenecks, and improve its efficiency for faster, more reliable releases.

2. Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

  • Define Infrastructure: Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Bicep to define and deploy cloud resources such as virtual machines, storage accounts, and networking components.
  • Automate Infrastructure Management: Automate the provisioning and configuration of Azure resources to reduce manual setup and human errors, ensuring consistency across environments.
  • Version Control for Infrastructure: Store infrastructure code in version control systems (e.g., Git), ensuring that changes to infrastructure are tracked, reviewed, and tested just like application code.

3. Cloud Environment Management

  • Azure Resource Management: Create and manage Azure resources such as virtual networks, databases, containers, and storage accounts, ensuring they meet application needs.
  • Cost Management: Optimize resource usage to reduce costs by setting up alerts and monitoring Azure resource usage, selecting cost-effective services, and implementing best practices for scaling and resource allocation.
  • Environment Configuration: Set up different environments (e.g., development, staging, production) in Azure, ensuring proper configuration and security standards are followed for each environment.

4. Automation and Scripting

  • Automated Deployment: Use scripting languages such as PowerShell, Bash, or Python to automate various tasks in the deployment pipeline, from setting up environments to configuring services.
  • Task Automation: Automate repetitive tasks such as software installation, environment setup, system monitoring, and scaling activities, saving time and reducing errors.

5. Monitoring, Logging, and Troubleshooting

  • Set up Monitoring: Implement Azure Monitor, Application Insights, and other tools to track application performance, infrastructure health, and user activity.
  • Alerting and Incident Management: Set up alerts based on system performance thresholds and configure automatic scaling to handle varying workloads efficiently. Troubleshoot and resolve issues that arise in production environments.
  • Log Management: Use Azure Log Analytics to aggregate logs from multiple sources and help with troubleshooting and identifying performance issues or security risks.

6. Security and Compliance

  • Implement Security Best Practices: Apply security policies, role-based access control (RBAC), and other Azure security features to protect cloud resources, applications, and data.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure the infrastructure and applications meet necessary compliance standards, such as GDPR, HIPAA, or SOC 2, by automating security checks and audits.
  • Secrets Management: Use Azure Key Vault to securely manage secrets, API keys, certificates, and other sensitive data for applications.
