Roles and responsibilities
  • Respond and attend to guests/ customers to resolve maintenance issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and kitchen and mechanical room equipment, including cleaning and lubrication.
  • Program and monitor energy management equipment to operate at maximum operational efficiency and avoid peak demand charges and penalties.
  • Perform monitoring the operation of pools and maintain the water parameters as per the DM guidelines.
  • Identify, locate, and operate all shut-off valves for equipment and all utility shut-offs for buildings.
  • Maintain maintenance inventory and requisition parts and supplies as needed.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) equipment including air handlers, motors, variable speed drives (VSDs) and controls.
  • Perform water chemical tests and utility meter readings on a daily basis
  • Lead and train the heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) team in the operation of energy management equipment and calibration of equipment.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot pressure vessels, boiler permits and boiler controls.
  • Log boiler water parameters regularly and maintain as per the limits.
  • Act as a member of the Emergency Response Team, responding in cases of fire, accident, safety concerns and calls for medical assistance.
  • Visually inspect equipment or machines and record any abnormality.
  • Log meter readings and make appropriate adjustments to the energy management system as required.
  • Monitor electrical demand, usage of refrigerant, well pumps, and the filtration systems.
  • Perform safety checks on related equipment as required.

Desired candidate profile

  • Operational Knowledge of Plant Systems:

    • In-depth understanding of plant machinery, equipment, and processes.
    • Ability to operate and monitor various plant systems, such as boilers, turbines, pumps, compressors, and other industrial equipment.

  • Troubleshooting and Problem Solving:

    • Ability to identify issues in plant systems or machinery and troubleshoot problems to minimize downtime.
    • Quick decision-making skills to address operational issues or safety concerns.

  • Control Room Operations:

    • Proficiency in using control systems (SCADA, DCS, PLCs) to monitor and control plant operations.
    • Ability to interpret control panel readings and make adjustments to ensure optimal operation.

  • Technical Proficiency:

    • Understanding of mechanical, electrical, and chemical systems as they apply to the plant's operations.
    • Knowledge of troubleshooting techniques for both routine and non-routine issues.

  • Safety Awareness and Compliance:

    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and standards specific to plant operations.
    • Ability to follow safety procedures, including emergency protocols, to prevent accidents and ensure the safety of the workforce.

  • Maintenance and Equipment Care:

    • Ability to conduct regular maintenance, inspections, and minor repairs on plant equipment.
    • Knowledge of preventive maintenance techniques to extend the lifespan of machinery and minimize breakdowns.

  • Record Keeping and Reporting:

    • Proficiency in keeping detailed records of plant operations, including equipment status, maintenance, and any incidents or malfunctions.
    • Ability to generate reports and communicate effectively with supervisors or engineers about plant performance.

  • Teamwork and Communication:

    • Effective communication skills for coordinating with other operators, maintenance teams, engineers, and supervisors.
    • Ability to work in a team environment, sharing responsibilities and ensuring plant safety and efficiency.

  • Physical Stamina and Dexterity:

    • Physical endurance to perform tasks in various environments, including hot, noisy, or hazardous areas.
    • Ability to operate heavy machinery and perform physically demanding tasks.
