We are seeking an experienced Risk Manager to lead risk management activities across a major portfolio of major building projects in Dubai. The role will support a programme of approximately 30 work packages, covering both new build and refurbishment works.
This is a senior position, broadly equivalent to Senior / Executive , suitable for someone with 10–15 years’ experience and a strong track record of managing risk on complex infrastructure or major building projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead risk management across approximately 30+ work packages Establish, maintain, and update project and programme risk registers. Facilitate risk workshops with project, commercial, and technical teams. Identify, assess, and quantify risks (cost, time, and operational impacts). Develop and agree mitigation strategies and contingency allowances. Provide risk input into pre‑contract / bid activities and proposals. Support the client team in structuring risk allocation in contracts and packages.
Stakeholder & Client Interface
Work closely with client decision‑makers, PMCs, and consultants on risk exposure. Present risk status, key exposures, and mitigation progress to senior stakeholders. Help transition risk management from being handled on an ad‑hoc basis by individuals to a more structured, programme‑level approach.
Governance & Reporting
Develop and implement consistent risk processes, standards, and templates Prepare regular risk reports, dashboards, and inputs for steering committees and client reviews
Who we’re looking for: Experience & Background
10+ years’ experience in project, programme, commercial, or risk roles on major projects, with substantial hands‑on risk management responsibility. Strong track record on airport/aviation or major infrastructure programmes, ideally with multiple concurrent packages. Experience working with or within client, PMC, or consulting environments in the Middle East Comfortable operating at senior stakeholder level, able to challenge and influence decision‑making.
Qualifications
Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Project Management, or a related discipline. Professional risk qualification (e.g. IRM, PMI‑RMP) or equivalent demonstrable expertise preferred. Membership of a recognised professional body (e.g. RICS, ICE, PMI) is an advantage.
Skills & Attributes
Strong analytical skills with the ability to quantify and prioritise risks. Clear, concise communicator – able to brief senior leadership and technical teams. Self‑starter, able to work with a high degree of autonomy in a fast‑moving client environment. Structured, methodical approach with good attention to detail.
