The CIB Business Finance team comprises ofindividual functions globally supporting the following products:Global Corporate Finance Transaction Banking Global Markets alongwith the Coverage function. The unit falls under the Group Financedepartment and reports to the CFO IB CCB &International.

Key priorities of this roleinclude:

  • Acting as a trusted Financeadvisor on business performance & strategic issues specificto the business
  • Providing world class financialreporting & support services adding value through providingprofessional independent & objective financial advice whichassist in the achievement of business objectives whilst complyingwith Group policies and standards and external statutoryobligations.
  • Production of financial &management accounting reporting statements for the functional areaof responsibility in line with Group reporting standards whilstmaintaining a robust controlenvironment.

TheGCF Business Finance function(s) are responsible for all financematters specific to the business including but not limited to;Performance Control Forecasting Budgeting & Strategy. Inaddition the function provides a key support role to other GroupFinance functions; Treasury Central FP&A Tax as well asFinancial & RegulatoryReporting.

  • Provideinputs for implementation of policies new products systems andprocedures for the CIB Business Finance team so that all relevantprocedural/legislative requirements fulfilled while delivering aquality costeffectiveservice.

SpecificAccountability

  • Contributetowards ensuring Finance act as a key business partner for GlobalCorporate Finance (GCF) and a trusted advisor on businessperformance and strategic issues helping to drive the businessforward.
  • Provide key inputs where necessary onacross business management forums; MIS reviews as well ascontribute towards value added commentary and insight specific toboth GCF & other CIB products wherenecessary.
  • Contribute towards the development& rollout of Customer/Segment MIS to support CIB &International
  • Comprehensive P&Lanalysis including detailed analysis and interpretation of dailyweekly & monthly performance of GCFBusiness.
  • Key business finance contact for allInternational Coverage & GCF queries leading discussions asappropriate with both the business as well as relevant enablementfunctions.
  • Provide relevant support to VPBusiness Finance GCF & Coverage ensuring all businesstransacted is compliant safe andsustainable.
  • Managing the day to day and monthend controls of P&L and Balance Sheet reconciliationsubstantiation and reporting for GCF
  • Manage GCFAccount Ownership Verification (AOV) monthly process. Ensure reviewand submission in a timely and accuratemanner.
  • Manage Audit (Internal / External)related activities and provide supporting details for allrequirements raised.
  • Contribute towards thepreparation of ADNL subsidiary financials and provide key inputs tothe list of requirements raised by external auditors during auditfield work.
  • Lead CIB transformation initiativesand provide key inputs to ensure successful delivery of all financedeliverables.
  • Development and ownership of GCFBusiness Finance relevant policies and accountability for adherencetherewith. Identification & reporting of any policybreaches. Development and implementation of Global operationalfinancial policies and procedures for the specific functionalareas.
  • Manage projects driven by new regulatoryrequirements in international locations to ensure the key criteriaof the regulation is met in a sustainable efficient and effectivemanner.
  • Ensure compliance and control ofspecific accounting processes and practices for proposed newproduct initiatives or productvariations.
  • Maintain Key linkages &strong working relationships with senior business leaders withinboth GCF Group Finance as well as Senior Management across otherenablement functions.
  • Work with Treasury on anyFTP capital and liquidity matters affecting both GCF products asrequired.
  • Provide input to wider Financestrategy activities and strive to work together effectively onoverall regional and global programs.
  • Inconjunction with FP&A continuously assess the quality ofservice provided to the principal customers and strive to ensurethat the area adds value to their objectives through the provisionof accurate and valuable financial data andadvice.
  • Engender a culture of continuousimprovement within the CIB Business Finance team ensuring thatoperations are kept continually under review and that allopportunities for reengineering and achieving economies of scaleare identified implemented.
  • Review existingsystems / processes / procedures and MIS to proactively identifyareas of improvements.
  • Provide leadershipinspire & help develop the CIB Business Financefunction.

Qualifications:

MinimumQualification

  • QualifiedFinance Professional eg ACA/ICAEW CIMACFA
  • Technical knowledge of Wholesale &Investment Banking products
  • Proven ability indirect management of a finance team from a leading InternationalBank(s)
  • Proven ability in liaising &dealing with Business leaders GCFO Enablement heads Auditors& external consultants.
  • Experience withreporting development tools such as Excel Oracle OBIEE Power BIMicrosoft Reporting Services.
  • Proven leaderwith an ability to influence strategic decisions at a seniormanagement level.
  • Excellent communicationskills with a high degree of personal integrity who can deliverunder pressure.
