  • Serve as subject matter expert forcompute and storage platforms in Meta's production datacenters, anticipating and diagnosing issues for the data centeroperations teams, and escalating as appropriate to hardware designand NPI (New Product Introduction)teams
  • Provide end-to-end lifecycle ownership(verification test through end of life decommissioning) of hardwareplatforms and new technologies in the datacenters.
  • Drive complex technical investigationsglobally and spanning multiple disciplines such as Hardware,Software/Firmware, Networking and Power &Cooling.
  • Analyze health of the global fleet ofservers to proactively identify systemic issues, and takeappropriate action to quickly mitigateimpact.
  • Work closely with HW Engineering,Release-to-Production, and Systems Integration teams to take newserver and storage platforms into mass production in the datacenters.
  • Identify risks early in new hardwareprograms and contribute the test methods needed to characterize theproduct and assure end-customer needs aremet.
  • Act as a product owner for operationalaspects of specific server and/or storage platforms. Ensure thatoutcomes of root cause analysis are addressed, in collaborationwith hardware and software engineeringteams.
  • Issue timely alerts and fixes tooperations teams, and assure a robust feedback pipeline toengineering teams.
  • Build strong relationshipsand collaboration with engineering and cross functional teamsacross the company. Actively solicit feedback from teams, and usethat feedback to improve operational effectiveness asinfrastructure scales.
  • Provide serviceabilityfeedback on production hardware resulting in more efficient repairactivities.
  • Ability to travel up to 30%required.

MinimumQualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in ComputerScience, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, orequivalent practical experience.
  • 6+ years ofexperience developing, troubleshooting, or testing IT hardwaresystems.
  • Experience triaging, testing,developing, and debugging hardwareplatforms.
  • Experience training and mentoringtechnicians and/or engineers.
  • Experience inintegration testing and operation of compute and storage platforms,bringing operational perspective to each stage of H/W developmentlife cycle through end of life inproduction.
  • Familiarity working with Linux orUnix Operating systems.
  • Demonstrated technicalskills and experience creating documentation for users of alllevels.
  • Communication experience andinterpersonal skills, with the experience communicating andpartnering effectively within all levels of theorganization.
  • Experience with buildingrelationships with customers andvendors.
  • Experience leveraging large volumes ofdata to improve decision making processes and requirements in thehardware functional domain (understanding the metrics andstatistics).

PreferredQualifications:

  • BS or BAin electrical, mechanical, or hardware engineering relatedexperience.
  • 6+ years experience working in theNPI development lifecycle designing, troubleshooting, and testingIT hardware systems.
  • Bash, PHP, Python, or Perlscripting experience.
  • Experience in data centersystem and process automation.
  • Experience inlarge scale data center hardware deployments and building scalinginfrastructure.
