  • ImplementationStandard of Performance: Initiates appropriate measures based onprotocol for the management of the intra- operative patient.Applies principles of aseptic technique. Evaluates sterile packsand supplies. Provides a well organized sterile area. Is aware ofprocedures progression and anticipates the needs of the team,observing sterile technique at all times. Performs all necessaryprocedures correctly to ensure patient safety intra operatively.Applies and assists with the principles of correct body alignmentin positioning and transferring patients. Examines unused equipmentand instruments for gross contamination and transports covered usedinstruments to utility room. Responsible for sterile coreactivities, able to prioritize duties: Completion of picking casecarts, restocking, reordering supplies as needed, assisting withO.R. room needs as necessary. Assists with appropriate measures inemergency situations. Works in conjunction with Circulator inpreparation for the next scheduled case. Initiates and facilitatesroom turnovers: Light housekeeping duties, procurement ofequipment, supplies and X-Rays. Restocking of unused supplies andequipment. Participates in the reprocessing process.
