Roles and responsibilities

We are seeking an experiencedLegal Counsel passionate aboutproviding comprehensive legal consultation services to support ourclient who is a governmental organisation in Dubai who is also oneof the largest construction companies in thecountry.

The Legal Counselwill be responsible for managing litigation, negotiating contracts,legislative drafting, and guiding the organization in its statutoryduties.

KeyResponsibilities:

  • Contract Management& Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiatevarious contracts, ensuring they protect company interests andalign with business objectives. Proactively address any contractualrisks and collaborate with internal stakeholders for amendments andapprovals.
  • LegalAdvisory: Provide clear and actionable legal adviceacross departments on a range of issues, including regulatorycompliance, intellectual property, and corporate governance. Serveas a trusted advisor for both preventative and reactive legalsolutions.
  • Litigation &Dispute Resolution: Represent and support thecompany's interests in legal disputes by developing casestrategies, preparing documentation, and liaising with externalcounsel as needed.
  • Research& Compliance: Conduct thorough legalresearch on regulatory developments and industry-specificlegislation to ensure ongoing compliance and minimize legalexposure. Offer insights on emerging laws that may impact businessoperations.
  • Corporate GovernanceSupport: Collaborate with the Board and seniormanagement to draft policies, resolutions, and governanceframeworks that promote ethical and legally sound businesspractices.
  • Risk Assessment& Mitigation: Identify and assess legalrisks related to transactions, partnerships, and business ventures.Provide actionable recommendations to reduce exposure and supportsustainable growth.
  • DocumentationStandardization: Develop and maintain a library ofstandardized legal documents, including templates for routinecontracts, agreements, and internal memos, to streamline processesand promote consistency.
Desired candidate profile
  • Cross-FunctionalLiaison: Work closely with Finance, HR, andOperations to address legal matters that impact multiple functions,ensuring a unified approach to compliance and risk managementacross the organization.
  • Mergers& Acquisitions (M&A): Participate indue diligence for acquisitions, structuring deals, and preparingrelated documentation. Support post-merger integration to alignacquired entities with company policies and legalstandards.

Knowledge, Skills &Experience Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Law ora related field; a master's or certification in a legalspecialty is a plus.
  • Minimum 10 years ofexperience in legal consulting, preferably inconstruction
  • Strong expertise in contract law,negotiation, arbitration, risk assessment and fidicknowledge.
  • Excellent analytical and researchskills, with a detail-orientedapproach.
  • Exceptional communication skills,both written and oral, and the ability to build strongrelationships across departments.
  • High level ofintegrity, accountability, andjudgment.
