Roles and responsibilities

  • ApplicationMonitoring andMaintenance :

    • ProactivelyMonitoring Applications : Ensure the smoothfunctioning of applications by continuously monitoring systemperformance, server health, and applicationlogs.
    • RoutineMaintenance : Perform scheduled tasks such as systemupgrades, patches, backups, and updates to ensure applications arerunning on the latest and most secureversions.

  • IncidentManagement :

    • IncidentDetection and Resolution : Respond to and resolveapplication-related issues reported by end-users or system alerts.This includes troubleshooting, analyzing, and resolving incidentspromptly.
    • IssuePrioritization : Determine the severity of incidentsand prioritize them based on business needs, ensuring minimaldowntime.
    • EscalationManagement : When necessary, escalate unresolvedissues to developers, system administrators, or third-party vendorsfor further investigation andresolution.

  • UserSupport andTraining :

    • End-UserAssistance : Provide support to end-users byaddressing queries, providing guidance on application features, andresolving issues they encounter while using theapplication.
    • User Documentationand Training : Create and maintain documentation suchas user manuals, troubleshooting guides, and FAQs. Also, conducttraining sessions for end-users to ensure they can effectively usetheapplication.

  • BugReporting andTesting :

    • Identifyingand Reporting Bugs : Detect and log application bugsor glitches reported by users or identified during routinechecks.
    • Coordinating withDevelopment Teams : Work closely with developers tocommunicate identified bugs, provide necessary context, and assistin testing new patches orfixes.
    • Testing ApplicationUpdates : Ensure that new software versions orupdates are tested thoroughly before deployment to identify anypotential issues or conflicts with existingsystems.

  • SystemConfiguration andSetup :

    • ConfigurationManagement : Assist with the setup, configuration,and customization of applications to meet specific business needs.This may involve adjusting settings, managing user access, andconfiguring workflows.
    • UserAccount Management : Set up and manage user accounts,roles, and permissions within applications to ensure appropriateaccesscontrol.

  • PerformanceTuning :

    • OptimizingApplication Performance : Monitor and analyzeapplication performance metrics, including load times, responsetimes, and system utilization. Recommend or implement improvementsto optimize performance.
    • CapacityPlanning : Forecast the demand on applications,ensuring they can handle expected user traffic and transactionswithout performancedegradation.

  • Collaborationwith Other ITTeams :

    • Workwith IT Support Teams : Collaborate with systemadministrators, network engineers, and other IT professionals toaddress infrastructure-related issues impacting applicationperformance.
    • Collaborating withDevelopment Teams : Communicate any applicationissues to development teams for deeper investigation andresolution, and assist in implementing changes whenrequired.
Desired candidate profile
  • Experience in Application production supportwithin the ITIL Framework.
  • Excellent knowledgeand hands on experience in
  • Application troubleshooting, configuration andmaintenance.
  • Application performance tuning andoptimization
  • Resolution of tickets with qualityand within SLA
  • Proactive monitoring andincidents analysis
  • Experience in Work flowmaintenance and Configuration.
  • Good knowledgeof 5 asset class: Equites, Fixed Income, Funds, ETF &Structured Products.
  • Portfolio Management& Trade life cycle in WealthManagement
  • Collateral Management concepts suchas Pledge/UnPledge,
  • Experience in handlinginterface related issues and good idea about the Middleware systemslike TIBCO/Open API/ Micro Services.
  • Very goodKnowledge in Oracle - SQL & PL/SQL /MSSQL
  • Very good knowledge in .Net applicationframework.
  • Hands on experience in Unixcommands
  • Limit Monitoring, Concepts of LTV& Haircut, Margin calls &Liquidation.
  • Basic data knowledge of Marketdata
  • Knowledge on Advent/SAXO/FINIQplatform.
  • Good knowledge of Open sourceapplications/application components
  • Goodknowledge of application licensing
  • Knowledge onDBs like Mongo, Hive, PostgreSQL
