About the School

Nord Anglia International School Abu Dhabi (NAS Abu Dhabi) lies at the heart of the Emirate, on Al Reem Island. In August 2023, we opened the school's new, purpose-built campus to our first cohort of students and began to do what Nord Anglia does best: make every moment at school count. Our mission is to help our students prepare for their futures, think creatively outside the box, develop healthy resilience, global awareness, and be team players.

The Role

The successful candidate will be able to inspire students of all ages and abilities. Classroom resources are plentiful, and expectations are high for achievement for all students. Building and maintaining positive relationships with parents is essential and is a key part of maximizing student progress. Job Purpose

To lead all aspects of the Arabic provision of the school such that all students achieve exceptional academic, personal, and social outcomes.

  • Lead the Head of Islamic and Social Studies to ensure outstanding provision in these subjects.

Teaching and Learning

  • Have teaching skills which lead to learners achieving well relative to their prior attainment;
  • Have an extensive knowledge and understanding of how to use and adapt a range of teaching strategies;
  • Ensure that school policies and schemes of work are implemented throughout Arabic;
  • Maintain a high standard of physical and emotional care of all children;
  • Support the Head of Learning Support in ensuring effective systems are in place to identify and meet needs.

Leading and Managing Staff

  • Facilitate staff in making constructive working relationships with children and parents;
  • Establish clear expectations for staff involved in Arabic;
  • Ensure high-quality training and support is provided during the induction of new staff.

Other Requirements

  • Contribute positively to the morale and community spirit in the school;
  • Assist in whole school marketing initiatives;
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of good practice in teaching techniques;
  • Meet responsibilities with regard to health and safety, equal opportunities, and other relevant legislation.

PERSON SPECIFICATIONS

Qualifications/Training

  • Degree in Arabic Literature or equivalent.

Experience / Knowledge

  • Minimum of two years teaching experience;
  • Experience and expertise with ADEK expectations in an International School setting;
  • Experience of working and leading within a large Arabic department.

Skills

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills;
  • Ability to engage children and enable them to perform highly.

Personal Attributes

  • High levels of personal integrity;
  • Passionate about education and young people.
