Roles and responsibilities
  • Patient Care Coordination:Plan, direct, and coordinate daily patient care activities toensure safe, effective, and high-qualitycare.
  • Clinical Support: Serve as a clinicalresource for nursing units, providing guidance and support tonursing staff and collaborating with nurse leaders and medicalstaff.
  • Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance withclinical policies, protocols, regulations, andstandards.
  • Education and Training: Conducteducational needs assessments and gap analyses, and assist in thetraining and development of nursingstaff.
  • Quality Improvement: Promote andmaintain quality patient care by managing nursing operations andenforcing procedures, policies, andpractices.
  • Patient Outcomes: Implement nursingactions based on assessment data, prioritize identified needs, andevaluate patient outcomes.

Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education:Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) or equivalent;Master's degreepreferred.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years ofclinical nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a leadershipor supervisory role.
  • Licensure: Valid nursinglicense in the UAE.
  • Skills: Strong clinicalskills, excellent communication and leadership abilities, andproficiency in healthcare management software.

RequiredExperience

  • A total of 5 years'experience post-graduation inclusive of 1-year experience ineducation (academic or clinical)
  • UAE Nurses:total of 5 years' experiencepost-graduation.

1. Clinical Expertise andGuidance

  • Supportfor Nurses and Healthcare Teams : The CRN acts as aclinical resource for nursing staff, offering expert advice onpatient care, complex clinical scenarios, and nursing bestpractices.
  • ClinicalDecision-Making : They help in making decisionsrelated to patient care, especially in complex cases, by providingevidence-based guidance and ensuring that care is aligned withclinicalstandards.
  • Problem-Solving :When unusual or difficult patient care situations arise, CRNscollaborate with other healthcare professionals to problem-solveand develop optimal care plans.

2.Staff Education andTraining

  • OngoingEducation : CRNs provide in-service training,workshops, and educational sessions to nursing staff, ensuring theyare up-to-date with the latest clinical practices, medicaltechnologies, and safetyprotocols.
  • Mentorship :They mentor less experienced nurses and healthcare professionals,helping them develop clinical skills and promoting professionalgrowth.
  • Orientation andOnboarding : Clinical Resource Nurses may assist inthe orientation and training of new staff members, familiarizingthem with the hospital's procedures, policies, and bestpractices.

3. QualityImprovement and ClinicalStandards

  • Implementationof Best Practices : CRNs help implement and monitoradherence to evidence-based clinical practices and protocols toensure the highest standards of patientcare.
  • QualityControl : They may also be involved in qualityimprovement initiatives, working to identify areas where patientcare can be improved and developing strategies to address thesegaps.
  • Compliance :Ensuring that nursing staff comply with regulatory standards,hospital policies, and legal requirements related to patientcare.

4. PatientAdvocacy and CareCoordination

  • Advocatingfor Patients : CRNs ensure that patients receive theappropriate care based on their individual needs, advocating fornecessary interventions andresources.
  • Coordination ofCare : They may assist in coordinatingmultidisciplinary care teams for complex cases and ensuring thatthe patient's care plan is effectively communicatedacross departments.

5.Clinical Research and Evidence-BasedPractice

  • ResearchParticipation : Some Clinical Resource Nurses areinvolved in clinical research, helping to gather data, monitorpatient outcomes, and contribute to studies that advance clinicalpractice.
  • Evidence-BasedPractice : They promote the use of evidence-basedpractices to improve patient outcomes, ensuring that nursinginterventions are based on the most current research andguidelines.
