Calls patients withmessages from providers and documents disposition. Documents,updates and processes records relating to provider appointments.Performs surgical scheduling functions, as needed. Participates intraining and orientation of new personnel. Performs other relatedduties as necessary. Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has nosupervisory responsibilities. BasicQualifications:

Must becertified by JCAHPO as an Ophthalmic Assistant (effective 1/1/01)and have a minimum of two (2) years (1,000 hours or more per year)recent experience in conducting objective ophthalmic testing on aregular basis, including but not limited to, experience in severalof the following procedures: visual acuity testing, non-contact orcontact tonometry, visual fields testing, lensometry, testing orcolor deficiency and depth perception or autorefraction. Must beproficient in ophthalmic procedures and testing as required by theemployer. Must have knowledge of medical and ophthalmologicalterminology. Must successfully complete PARRS II, AutoReg (whereapplicable), and be able to work with electronic medical recordsystem. Good verbal and written communication skills, includinglegible handwriting. Ability to read and comprehend simpleinstructions. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in teamsrequired. Knowledge of computer and computer keyboard. Must bewilling to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment. Alsorefer to Position Specifications outlined in the appropriatecollective bargainingagreement.
