Job Summary MechanicalInspector

  • TheMechanical Inspector will ensure the contractors are compliant withthe contract documents coordinate on a daily basis with the otherteams to document and verify the quality and quantity of workperformed by the Contractor and process the incoming InspectionRequests and technical submittals and perform the necessaryactions.
  • Reading and understanding the packagecontract documents detailed drawings specifications and health andsafety measures together with any associatedupdates.
  • Ensuring the contractor(s) arecomplying with the standards and specifications of the contractdocuments through observation measurements and testing as well astracking quality assuranceprogress.
  •  Maintaining records of thecontractor manpower and equipment dailyresources.
  •  Undertaking all sitesupervision and inspections when required or instructed by theResident Engineer (RE) or the Assistant Resident Engineer(ARE).
  • Documenting in the areas assigned to theInspector the contractors personnel and equipment activitiesobserved location of activities reason for activities and means andmethods utilised.
  • Additionally report onmaterials delivery and following and implementing any siteinstructions made by the leader. Apply and implement all qualitycontrols and quality procedures of thesite.
  • Follow up and implement any siteinstructions made by the leader.
  • Apply andimplement all quality controls and quality procedures of thesite.
  • Prepare any site measurements andsurveying checks needed by theleader
  • Monitoring conformance to qualityperformance and/or code requirements by performing inspectionduties.  Monitor Health and Safety of theconstruction works and report onviolations
  • Specific SkillsRequired
  • Good knowledge in Mechanicalmethodologies and installation processes and procedures. Knowledgeof the Building Codes. 
  • Experience inBuildings of all types in particular horizontal development mixeduse residential and commercial retail andhospitality.
  • Effective oral and writtencommunication skills.
  • Competent at writingreports can present views clearly and concisely in good writtenEnglish.
  •  Detailed knowledge ofconstruction techniques.
  •  Experiencein Mechanical related type projectsrequired.
  • Candidates must have experience inConstruction Supervision with a Consultancy with a minimum of 8years of overall experience (minimum 5 years in theUAE).

Qualifications:

  • For theInspector position a diploma holder in Mechanical Engineering isacceptable. For candidates who wish to progress onto Engineer levela related BSc. Degree is required in the Engineeringfield.
