Roles and responsibilities
  • Communicates store targetsto the team and drives sales to achieve financialobjectives
  • Maintains proper loss preventionstandards and ensures compliance with cash handling, fraud andtheft of products
  • Oversees and monitors allpoint of sales activities in the store which includes - salestransactions, tracking customer orders and payments, registeringsale and maintaining inventory updates, providing service, handlingreturns and refunds, gathering consumer data forfeedback' etc.
  • Oversees cashtransaction entry and management (petty cash, point of sales (POS)cash elements, change floats)
  • Regularly auditsown store administration and resolves any issues; assists incarrying out annual stock counts and spotchecks
  • Monitors and handles customer complaintsand take corrective action in line with policy; resolves customercomplaints and responds to feedback in a timely and professionalmanner
  • Tracks and evaluates brand salesperformance, research market trends and competitor tradingactivities to identify critical business factors and propose actionplans to increase sales andprofitability
  • Monitors and analyzes salesreports and provides insights to maximize stock potential; reportson the performance of new and corecollections
  • Maintains window and in-storedisplays to a high standard in line with merchandisingguidelines
  • Oversees and monitors the inventorymanagement in the store ( stock availability, order management,back store management, stock movement withinstore)
  • Ensures accurate stock merchandise andmanagement (stock ageing , stock loss, space management) within thestore
  • Coordinates with facilities department onrepairs or replacements of furniture or equipment; supports companymaintenance standards/programs to optimize assetlife
  • Maintains staffing levels consistent withoperational needs to ensure exceptional customer service; preparesschedules and ensures adequate shiftcoverage
  • Ensures seasonal peaks, importantpromotional events are taken account of when preparing forecastsand staff rosters
  • Ensures that the team isadequately trained in inventory management techniques such asin-bound movement of goods, receiving, stocking, restocking,transfers and managing inventory discrepancies

PeopleManagement:

Defines goals andkey performance indicators for each member of the team and ensureseffective implementation of the GMG's performancemanagement process

  • Develops talent within the team byproviding guidance, mentoring and coaching to achieve the definedgoals Drives a culture of feedback and coaching in the BusinessUnit/ Department by providing feedback on an ongoing basis,identifying development needs and coaching the employees on theareas of improvement

  • StaffSupervision : Assist in managing the store team,including supervising daily tasks, ensuring that all staff arefollowing store procedures, and providingdirection.
  • Training andDevelopment : Help with the recruitment, training,and development of new employees, ensuring that staff are equippedwith the necessary skills and knowledge tosucceed.
  • Motivating theTeam : Provide leadership by motivating andencouraging staff to meet individual and team targets. Lead byexample in terms of work ethic and customerservice.
  • ShiftManagement : Oversee staff scheduling, ensuring thatthe store is adequately staffed during peak hours and that shiftsare fairly allocated.

2.Customer Service andExperience

  • CustomerInteraction : Act as a point of contact for customerqueries and concerns, handling escalated issues and ensuring thatcustomer service standards aremet.
  • Maintaining StoreStandards : Ensure the store is clean, organized, andvisually appealing to customers. This includes maintaining storedisplays and ensuring that the environment is safe andwelcoming.
  • CustomerSatisfaction : Monitor customer satisfaction levels,using feedback and insights to improve service offerings andaddress any customer complaints.

3.Sales and PerformanceManagement

  • SalesTargets : Assist in setting sales targets for thestore and support the team in achieving them. This may includemotivating staff during promotional periods or specialevents.
  • PerformanceAnalysis : Help analyze store sales data, identifytrends, and develop strategies to improve sales performance andprofitability.
  • Promotions andMarketing : Work with the store manager to plan andexecute in-store promotions, marketing campaigns, or seasonaldisplays to drive foot traffic and increasesales.

4. Inventory andStockControl

  • StockManagement : Assist in managing stock levels,ensuring that products are ordered and replenished on time to avoidstockouts oroverstocking.
  • InventoryAudits : Participate in regular stocktaking andinventory audits to ensure that stock records are accurate and thatloss prevention protocols arefollowed.
  • ProductDisplay : Oversee the correct placement andarrangement of products on the sales floor to encourage purchasesand align with the store's visual merchandisingstandards.

5. Healthand SafetyCompliance

  • SafetyStandards : Ensure the store complies with health andsafety regulations, including fire safety and emergency procedures.Ensure staff are aware of and adhere to thesestandards.
  • Security :Help implement security measures to protect store assets, includingmanaging CCTV systems, securing stock, and ensuring all storeentrances are monitored forsafety.

6.AdministrativeSupport

  • Reporting :Assist with preparing sales reports, payroll records, and otheradministrative duties required by the store manager or regionalmanagementteam.
  • Budgeting :Help monitor store expenses and ensure the store operates withinbudgetary guidelines, minimizing waste andinefficiency.
