Infrastructure Design Manager

Abu Dhabi, UAE

We are looking for an experienced Infrastructure Design Manager to oversee design operations, coordinate with clients and statutory authorities, and provide leadership to our technical teams. This role involves guiding and advising on technical matters, ensuring the implementation of delivery tools, systems, processes, and procedures to support various PMOs and PMCs in the region. The successful candidate will continuously improve organizational performance and address technical and design challenges to align with program requirements.

What You'll Be Doing:

  1. Lead the design team in all aspects of infrastructure design services.
  2. Manage the design process from concept to completion, up to the tender stage.
  3. Collaborate with the Technical Excellence team on design standards and guidelines.
  4. Create and manage design briefs and timelines.
  5. Monitor and evaluate design trends and technologies.
  6. Ensure design projects are completed on time and within budget.
  7. Present designs to stakeholders.
  8. Manage design resources and assets.
  9. Develop and implement design strategies.
  10. Analyze customer feedback and adjust designs accordingly.
  11. Collaborate and communicate with project teams and stakeholders throughout the design process.
  12. Manage and monitor change management and risk management.
  13. Develop project design delivery programs and resource plans.
  14. Ensure internal design coordination and secure quality management and control.
  15. Review developed design reports, specifications, drawings, and final documents for clients.
  16. Manage interface among all disciplines involved in design delivery.
  17. Provide weekly and monthly reporting to Project Directors and clients.
  18. Support project bidding and resource development.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  1. MSc or BSc in Civil Engineering from an accredited university.
  2. Professional certifications are highly desirable.
  3. Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in roads and infrastructure design.
  4. Previous experience in Abu Dhabi is preferable.

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  1. Extensive experience in design management and project management of master plans and mixed-use developments in the MENA region.
  2. Excellent communication skills, including report writing and presentation skills.
  3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Microsoft Project).
  4. Knowledge of Primavera and Autodesk Civil 3D.
  5. Familiarity with Esri GIS and Bentley software.
  6. Organized and self-motivated.
  7. Prior experience in leading multidisciplinary teams and client-facing roles.
  8. Knowledge of BIM for roads and infrastructure.
  9. Ability to perform in a lead capacity with excellent written and oral communication skills.
  10. Thorough knowledge of current technology and the ability to select and apply appropriate engineering software for projects.
