We areseeking a qualified TransportPlanner with between 3 to 5 yearsexperience to join our Transport Planning and Strategic AdvisoryBusiness Unit in the Middle East. The candidate must be adegreequalified professional with a minimum of 35 years of trafficengineering transport planning and traffic modelling experience inthe Middle East. An ideal candidate should possess the followingbut not limitedto:

Qualifications

  • Bachelorsdegree in civil engineering or equivalent is amust.

  • Minimum 35 years ofexperience in traffic engineering and transportplanning.

  • Knowledge ofMiddle East and International Transport Planning standards andprocedures.

  • Has workedwithin a team.

  • Mastersdegree in transport planning or equivalent field isdesirable.

Responsibilities

  • Thisrole requires contributing to a variety of transport planningstudies including large scale transport master plan assessmentstraffic impact studies or multidisciplinary planning projects inthe public and privatesectors.

  • Understanding oftransport planning traffic engineering and travel demandtheory.

  • Project experiencein the Middle East and familiarity with local transport planningstandards andpractices.

  • Practicalunderstanding of the role and importance of transport planning indevelopment access and citywide mobilityplans.

  • Experience inundertaking junction analysis to support the traffic impactassessments.

  • Contribute topreparation of reports including existing conditions analyses tripgeneration junction analysis and parkingassessments.

  • Must be able tocommunicate in English effectively both written andspoken.

  • Must be able tolearn and retain new skills quickly from a variety ofsources.

  • Must be able towork with limitedsupervision.

  • Some experienceproject/financialmanagement.

  • Competence toassist in growing the Atkins Transport Planning Business as well asto sell Atkins servicesgenerally.

Whatwere lookingfor

  • Experiencein traffic engineering and transport planning projects acrossUAE.

  • Competence withMicrosoft Office suite (Word Excel andPowerPoint).

  • Understandingof various authority guidelines and manuals inUAE.

  • Experience with trafficengineering software (SYNCHRO / SIDRA /HCS).

  • Understanding oftransport modelling software (STEAM / PTV VISUM / PYVVISSIM).

  • Can work in amultidisciplinaryteam.

  • Strong communicationand personalskills.
