We are looking for an enthusiastic Maintenance Engineer - Elevators for one of our reputed clients in Dubai.

Responsibilities:

Must have a proven broad range of skills to excel in technical , commercial , and customer relations aspects of the role.

Technical Skills

Mechanical and Electrical Knowledge :

  • Understanding elevator systems, including mechanical, electrical, and control systems.
  • Troubleshooting experience.
  • Familiarity with safety standards and regulations for elevator systems (e.g., ASME A17.1 or EN 81).

Diagnostics and Troubleshooting :

  • Ability to perform accurate diagnostics to identify issues swiftly and efficiently.

Knowledge of Programming and Control Systems :

  • Knowledge of PLC (Programmable Logic Controllers) and control panels used in modern elevators.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and reprogram elevator control systems.

Preventive and Predictive Maintenance :

  • Expertise in planning and executing maintenance schedules to ensure maximum uptime and safety.
  • Ability to anticipate future breakdowns using predictive maintenance techniques.

Problem-Solving :

  • Quick decision-making skills, especially under pressure when elevators are down and there is an urgency to resolve the issue.

Commercial Skills

Cost Management :

  • Understanding the financial implications of maintenance operations. This includes minimizing costs by optimizing parts usage, managing time efficiently, and finding cost-effective solutions to problems.

Vendor Management and Negotiation :

  • Managing relationships with suppliers and negotiating for better rates on parts and services.
  • Ensuring proper inventory management and maintaining quality while keeping costs low.

Project Management :

  • Organizing and overseeing maintenance projects, from minor repairs to large upgrades or retrofitting of elevators.
  • Managing time and resources efficiently, ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.

Business Acumen :

  • Understanding the business side of elevator maintenance, including contracts, billing, and profit margins.
  • Ability to identify opportunities for upselling additional services or recommending upgrades to clients.

Customer Relations Skills

Communication :

  • Clear, professional, and effective communication with clients about elevator issues, solutions, and the status of ongoing maintenance.
  • Providing detailed reports and explanations, particularly when explaining technical issues in a non-technical manner.

Customer Service and Relationship Building :

  • Building strong, trusting relationships with clients through consistent and dependable service.
  • Being proactive in addressing clients' needs and following up after services to ensure satisfaction.
  • Managing customer complaints or concerns effectively and turning negative situations into positive outcomes.
  • Handling situations when the elevator is out of service and managing customer expectations during downtime.

Technical Training and Education :

  • Educating customers about the importance of proper elevator maintenance and safety standards.
  • Helping clients understand the long-term benefits of regular maintenance to ensure safe and reliable operation.

Presentation Skills :

  • Effectively presenting elevator solutions, upgrades, or maintenance plans to clients, explaining the technical benefits in terms they can understand.

Time Management :

  • Balancing multiple service calls, scheduled maintenance tasks, and emergency repairs efficiently.

Attention to Detail :

  • Ensuring no small issue goes unnoticed, as even a minor malfunction can lead to major safety risks.

Safety Awareness :

  • Strict adherence to safety protocols to protect both the team and customers.

Adaptability and Continuous Learning :

  • Willingness to keep up with technological advancements in elevator systems and new industry regulations.

Skills & Requirements:

  • Electrical or Electronic relevant bachelor's degree or Diploma
  • Minimum 3 years of working experience as Elevators Maintenance Engineer
  • Technical knowledge of at least 5 well-known elevator brands
