Position Overview

The role of the Control Systems Engineer involves the critical task of designing and enhancing control systems tailored for industrial operations, ensuring smooth integration with current infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and Development: Engage in the creation and refinement of control systems to meet operational needs.
  • System Optimization: Implement modifications to software and systems to boost performance, stability, and responsiveness.
  • Instrumentation Selection: Identify and choose suitable instrumentation and automation components for accurate process control and monitoring.
  • Collaboration: Work alongside procurement teams to source and maintain necessary software, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Programming: Configure and program PLCs, DCS, and other control devices to realize specified control strategies.
  • HMI Development: Create and implement software solutions for Human-Machine Interface systems to enhance process monitoring.
  • Troubleshooting: Conduct in-depth analysis of control system challenges, identifying root causes and executing timely corrective actions.
  • Algorithm Optimization: Continuously refine control algorithms to improve system efficiency and minimize downtime.
  • Documentation: Prepare comprehensive documentation, including specifications and operating procedures, to support control system implementation.
  • Compliance: Ensure that control system designs meet relevant industry standards and safety regulations.
  • Team Collaboration: Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including electrical and process engineers, to achieve project goals.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Provide technical insights and recommendations to stakeholders to facilitate informed decision-making.
  • Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation by exploring new tools and methodologies to enhance control system capabilities.
  • Data Security: Implement robust backup strategies to protect critical control system data.

Role-Specific Duties
  • Embedded Software Development: Develop and maintain embedded software using C and C++ for microcontrollers.
  • Testing and Debugging: Perform thorough testing and troubleshooting of embedded systems to ensure optimal performance.
  • Code Reviews: Participate in code reviews, providing constructive feedback to peers.
  • Documentation: Document design specifications and user manuals to support system understanding.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay informed about industry trends and best practices in embedded systems development.
  • Microcontroller Expertise: Demonstrate a strong understanding of microcontroller architectures and communication protocols.
  • RTOS Experience: Utilize experience with real-time operating systems and Linux.
  • Problem-Solving: Exhibit strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Database Management: Apply knowledge of database management systems and SQL in embedded systems.
