Job Summary

Aircraft Maintenance Specialist

Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Aircraft Maintenance Specialist to join our team. As an Aircraft Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance tasks and defect rectification of aircraft in accordance with company and regulatory procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform aircraft maintenance and servicing tasks in compliance with manufacturer and safety procedures.
  • Ensure that assigned zones/aircraft are maintained as per latest revisions of approved authority Technical Publications.
  • Verify that personal approvals/licences are valid and applicable to aircraft types.
  • Handle off-aircraft tasks such as spares handling, robberies, hold items, and ensure associated paperwork is complete.
  • Determine if tooling/equipment used is serviceable and appropriate for the task and use specialized tooling where required.
  • Carry out trouble shooting procedures/tools used for fault rectification in a cost-effective and efficient manner.
  • Perform component changes as necessary as part of trouble shooting process and/or as directed by immediate supervisor.
  • Ensure all activities performed are carried out in accordance with all safety rules and regulations and in adherence to company procedures.
  • Maintain effective communication with Colleagues including Managers and Senior Engineers to ensure a seamless flow of information.
  • Complete relevant reports related to service delays, incidents, and accidents in detail.
  • Manage the performance of staff using performance review process and system.
  • Attend training/recurrent modules as required to enhance skills and comply with regulatory requirements.
  • Be available for deployment anywhere within the operation to assist in the recovery process of an AOG and/or aircraft component manufacturer facilities.
Requirements
  • Degree or Honours in Aeronautical subjects/Mechanical/Avionics/Electronic/Tech Engineering or Maintenance Engineering Licence.
  • 7+ years experience in aviation maintenance environment as an Aircraft Technician/Mechanics or equivalent with a reputable airline or Aircraft Maintenance Organisation.
  • Minimum of 1 aircraft type approval.
  • Fully conversant with Air Legislation and legal matters that relate to the operation and maintenance of aircraft to international standards.
