Job Title: Senior Project Engineer

About the Role:

Wood PLC is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to join our team in Abu Dhabi, UAE. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing and supervising the implementation of projects, ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Direct and supervise the implementation of projects, including verification of bidder lists and participation in the preparation of Call for Tender documents.
  • Develop project objectives, execution strategy, work breakdown structure, and contracting strategy.
  • Work in line with company HSE policies, responsible for the implementation of company HSE, Quality Control, and Assurance plans.
  • Coordinate and assist the project manager in ITT, technical bid evaluations, including the preparation of Call for Tenders, prequalification, and bidder lists.
  • Follow up and coordinate the various contracts of the project to ensure interfaces are properly defined and monitored.
  • Maintain close liaison with sites, project originators, end users, and other departments to ensure all company procedures are adhered to during project execution.
  • Supervise the performance of contractors for the project.
  • Review contractors' invoices and monitor contracts cost in liaison with planning and cost.
  • Service and evaluate cost trend, and advise the project manager as necessary.
  • Ensure close-out procedures for all contracts are being complied with, including control of project as-built documentation, material reconciliation, and close-out reports.
  • Identify critical issues and areas of concern that may affect project performance targets.
  • Provide effective ways forward and timely decisions to ensure all risks are properly managed.
  • Act as a focal point for all interfaces of the projects within the company and other ADNOC group companies, to ensure successful completion of project activities.
  • Oversee the development and execution of risk management plans, proactively identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies to minimize project disruptions.
  • Lead project reviews and lessons learned sessions to continuously improve project management processes and enhance team performance.
Requirements:
  • Engineering degree or equivalent from a recognized university.
  • Membership in a recognized professional engineering association would be highly preferred.
  • A minimum of fifteen years' experience in the execution of major Oil and Gas projects, of which a minimum of five years' experience as Senior Project Engineer or higher with a proven track record in upstream projects.
