Job Title: Architectural Site Inspector

GHD is seeking a highly skilled Architectural Site Inspector to join our team. As an Architectural Site Inspector, you will be responsible for ensuring that construction activities are carried out in accordance with approved plans, specifications, and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Verify Quality of Finishes: Examine the quality of finishes, such as surface preparation, paint, or surface coatings, to ensure they meet specified standards and project requirements.
  • Ensure Compliance with Approved Shop Drawings: Verify that installations of finishes, joineries, doors, windows, hardscaping, facade, walls, ceilings, and tiles comply with approved shop drawings and relevant industry standards.
  • Inspect Surface Preparations: Inspect surface preparations to ensure they are smooth, free from debris, and adequately primed or sealed.
  • Inspect Materials and Installations: Inspect materials and installations for fire resistance, acoustic performance, moisture protection, and overall workmanship.
  • Manage Snag/Desnag Process: Familiar with electronic documentation systems and able to manage the snag/desnag process for the discipline.
  • Interface with Public: Interface with the public, especially residents and business owners adjacent to the work, to mitigate construction impacts.
  • Oversee and Inspect Architectural Work: Oversee and inspect all architectural work to ensure that installation activities comply with contractual obligations and quality control standards.
  • Follow-up with Contractor: Follow-up with the contractor and support in coordinating with the utility authority regarding connections whenever required.
  • Monitor Project Quality Control Procedures: Ensure that project quality control procedures are used for construction supervision works and monitor it for improvement.
  • Coordinate Contractors' Activities: Monitor and coordinate all contractors' activities for the discipline.
  • Perform Works Inspection Requests: Perform works inspection requests and material inspection requests on a daily basis.
  • Support Site Architect: Support the Site Architect in reviewing submittals from project inception to close-out.
  • Collaborate with Construction Management: Collaborate with construction management to eliminate any hazards associated with the work that may adversely affect the environment or the safety or health of employees.
  • Review and Interpret Design Drawings: Reviews and interprets disciplinedesign drawings and specifications to ensure current revision level and correct technical execution of the work.
  • Provide Resolution for Technical Engineering Problems: Provides resolution for technical engineering problems within the assigned discipline(s); coordinates application of solutions to ensure progress onsite.
  • Monitor Material Procurement and Deliveries: Monitors material procurement and deliveries to ensure timeliness in support of construction activities and schedule within the assigned discipline.
  • Ensure Materials Meet Specifications: Ensures that materials received meet specifications and established standards of quality.
  • Organize Accumulation of Assigned Discipline Data: Organizes the accumulation of assigned discipline data for the final project turnover and report.
