BIM Manager for Digital Engineering

We are seeking a highly skilled BIM Manager to join our team at Duncan & Ross. As a BIM Manager, you will play a critical role in leading the development and management of BIM models for architectural projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead BIM Model Development: Ensure accuracy, compliance with project requirements, and alignment with client needs by managing the development and coordination of multidisciplinary BIM models.
  • Collaborate with Teams: Work closely with architects, engineers, and contractors to integrate and coordinate BIM models, ensuring seamless coordination across all project phases.
  • Implement BIM Standards: Oversee the implementation and maintenance of BIM standards, processes, and protocols, adhering to company and industry best practices.
  • Create Detailed Models: Develop detailed 3D models and design documentation using BIM software (e.g., Revit, AutoCAD, Navisworks, etc.) and ensure full coordination across disciplines.
  • Develop BEPs: Create and manage BIM execution plans (BEP) and assist in developing project schedules related to BIM deliverables.
  • Perform Clash Detection: Identify and resolve coordination issues, flag potential problems early in the design process, and ensure that models are aligned with project goals.
  • Review Documents: Manage and review BIM-related documents, ensuring accuracy and completeness of construction drawings, specifications, and model-based deliverables.
  • Present Progress Updates: Conduct regular BIM model reviews with project teams and stakeholders, addressing issues and ensuring that models meet project requirements.
  • Train Junior Staff: Provide training and support to junior BIM staff on BIM software and best practices.
  • Contribute to Continuous Improvement: Assist in developing project-specific BIM strategies and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives for BIM-related processes and tools.
  • Align Workflows: Collaborate with project managers to ensure BIM workflows are aligned with project schedules, budgets, and deadlines.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience as a BIM Architect or in a similar BIM-related role within the architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC) industry.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficient in BIM software (e.g., Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Dynamo, or similar tools).
  • Strong Understanding: Strong understanding of BIM processes, standards (e.g., ISO 19650), and coordination across architectural, structural, and MEP disciplines.
  • Solid Knowledge: Solid knowledge of architectural design and construction practices, building codes, and regulations.
  • Model Coordination: Experience with model coordination, clash detection, and resolving design conflicts using BIM tools.
  • Data Management: Familiarity with data management systems (e.g., BIM 360, Procore, or similar platforms) and project management tools.
  • Problem-Solving Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify and resolve issues.
  • Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain high-quality standards in model development and documentation.
