The CHALHOUB Group is seeking a seasoned Senior Counsel to join our team. As a key member of our legal department, you will provide expert legal advice and guidance to our business units, ensuring that we operate within the bounds of the law.
**Responsibilities and Requirements:**
- Understand Business Objectives: Understand the company's objectives and strategy, and communicate legal risks and issues to management.
- Support Business Units: Collaborate with business units to achieve their goals by finding creative solutions to legal problems and implementing processes to improve efficiency and quality.
- Provide Legal Counsel: Offer accurate and timely counsel to executives and staff on commercial and corporate law topics.
- Develop Defence Strategies: Collaborate with management to devise efficient defence strategies and specify internal governance policies.
- Risk Management: Research and evaluate different risk factors regarding business decisions and operations.
- Negotiate Agreements: Communicate and negotiate with external parties to create mutually beneficial agreements.
**Requirements:**
- Bachelor's degree in law and a juris doctor degree.
- License or certification to practice law in the relevant jurisdiction.
- A minimum of five years of external or in-house legal experience.
- Strong commercial and retail background.
