Asterix Communications is seeking a highly skilled Naval Architect to join our team as a Project Logistics Specialist. In this role, you will be responsible for the planning and execution of heavy lift and out-of-gauge transports across all modes of transportation and handling.
Key Responsibilities- Develop and implement transport plans for heavy lift and out-of-gauge cargo, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
- Generate and review AutoCAD stowage drawings for projects, covering crane and lifting surveys.
- Develop and maintain lashing and cargo safety documents, including calculations and technical recommendations.
- Conduct port inspections and ensure compliance with QHSES rules and regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop method statements, technical recommendations, and feasibility studies.
- Visualize transport procedures using AutoCAD and other applications.
- Refine transport drawings, cargo safety plans, and calculations to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
- Develop construction drawings and complete technical calculations for projects.
- Maintain project documentation, including technical drawings, calculations, ballast water plans, feasibility studies, and project correspondence.
- 5+ years of experience as a transport engineer in the project industry or a similar position in the transport/heavy-duty industry, with a focus on project cargo.
- Specialist knowledge in ocean transport technology and shipbuilding.
- Good knowledge of DNV and other relevant industry standards.
- Experience in lifting by ship crane, ballasting, load-spreading, and grid design.
- Knowledge in cargo securing and welding.
- Solutions-centric and creative approaches to tasks.
- Excellent English skills and possibly another language.
- Ability to travel, including short notice (25%).
