Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Commercial Manager to join our team in the United Arab Emirates. The successful candidate will be responsible for defining and managing the commercial parameters of projects, ensuring they align with our business plan and comply with all relevant laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Commercial Performance: Oversee the overall commercial performance of projects, minimizing costs and enhancing value for money.
  • Tender Review: Review project tenders in line with our bidding SOPs to ensure an adequate return on resource assets utilized for projects.
  • Contractor Management: Review all contractor applications on behalf of the client and make recommendations for payment.
  • Estimating and Design: Support in developing estimating, design, and bid standards to deliver value-added and cost-effective solutions.
  • Contract Negotiations: Take a key role in contract negotiations with clients and play a major part in achieving satisfactory outcomes in terms of profit and customer satisfaction.
  • Cost Management: Manage and update cost management systems, detailing project cash flows and committed costs and anticipated costs to complete.
  • Final Accounts: Monitor and ensure prompt resolution of final accounts, including settlement of Compensation Events (variations), claims, and disputes.
  • Project Closure: Ensure projects are closed out in a timely fashion and that closure targets are achieved.
  • Business Development: Work with divisional teams to develop and appraise investment cases to identify business returns and added value to opportunities.
  • Risk Management: Identify business risk and opportunities and ensure robust management systems are in place on projects.
  • Contract Administration: Negotiate contract and sub-contract terms, tender appraisals of bids, and supervise the administration of project contracts.
  • Process Improvement: Actively seek ways of using IT systems to improve and support working practices and processes.
  • Team Management: Liaise with and manage a team of Quantity Surveyors for project work in the UAE.

Requirements:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying or related field.
  • Experience: Minimum 10 years' experience in Construction Commercial management.
  • Qualifications: Chartered Quantity Surveyor with a wide variety of experience in Project Management.
  • Language: English (fluent).
