Job Description:

The Commercial and Contract Manager will be responsible for overseeing the contract administration and commercial aspects of a major housing project in Abu Dhabi on REEM Island. This role involves managing the AECOM services agreement for the project, as well as managing project budgets, contracts, and ensuring timely and budget-friendly delivery.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Contract Management: Lead the negotiation, drafting, and management of contracts with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers, ensuring compliance with legal and company requirements.
  • Budgeting & Cost Control: Prepare and manage project budgets, forecasts, and financial reports, monitoring costs and expenditures to ensure projects stay within budget.
  • Tendering & Procurement: Manage the tendering process, including bid preparation and evaluation, negotiating and securing the best terms with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Project Financial Management: Oversee the financial performance of construction projects, including cash flow management, invoicing, and payment schedules, identifying and mitigating financial risks.
  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks in contracts and projects, developing strategies to mitigate them, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Client Liaison: Act as the main point of contact for clients regarding commercial and contractual matters, building and maintaining strong relationships to ensure customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Claims Management: Handle claims related to construction projects, including variations, delays, and disputes, ensuring efficient resolution in line with contractual obligations.
  • Team Leadership: Manage and mentor the commercial team, including quantity surveyors and contract administrators, ensuring alignment with company goals and objectives.
  • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to senior management on project commercial status, including financial performance, risks, and opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience: 15-20 years of experience in a commercial management role within the construction industry, with proven experience in managing large-scale construction projects.
Work Environment:

Site-based in Abu Dhabi, REEM Island, with a 48-hour, 5-day working week.
