Job Summary

Duncan & Ross Consulting is seeking a highly skilled Civil QAQC Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our quality assurance and control team, you will be responsible for ensuring that our construction projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Quality Plans: Create and implement quality plans, procedures, and processes to ensure that construction activities comply with project specifications, building codes, and industry standards.
  • Review Project Documents: Review project documents, including drawings, specifications, and contracts, to identify quality requirements and establish QA criteria.
  • Conduct Audits and Assessments: Conduct regular audits and assessments of construction processes, materials, and workmanship to verify compliance with QA standards and identify areas for improvement.
  • Establish QC Inspection Plans: Develop and implement QC inspection plans, checklists, and protocols for monitoring and evaluating the quality of construction work at various stages of the project.
  • Perform On-Site Inspections: Conduct on-site inspections and tests to verify the quality of materials, workmanship, and installations, including concrete work, structural elements, MEP systems, finishes, and architectural details.
  • Document and Report Non-Conformities: Document and report non-conformities, defects, and deficiencies observed during QC inspections, and collaborate with project teams to develop corrective and preventive actions.
  • Coordinate with Suppliers and Subcontractors: Coordinate with material suppliers, subcontractors, and testing laboratories to ensure that construction materials meet project specifications, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct Sampling and Testing: Conduct sampling, testing, and analysis of construction materials, such as concrete, steel, aggregates, and finishes, to verify compliance with quality standards and performance criteria.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field. Certification in Quality Management (e.g., CQM, CQE) is desirable.
  • Experience: Proven experience (typically 3+ years) in QA/QC engineering, with a focus on building construction projects, preferably in commercial, residential, or institutional sectors.
  • Skills and Knowledge: In-depth knowledge of construction materials, methods, and techniques, as well as relevant building codes, regulations, and quality standards (e.g., ASTM, ACI, AISC, ASCE). Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and proficiency in conducting QA/QC inspections, tests, and evaluations.
  • Communication and Interpersonal Skills: Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with diverse stakeholders.
  • Technical Skills: Familiarity with construction management software, quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001), and digital tools for documentation and reporting.
