Key Responsibilities

  • Conducts inspections on designated electrical apparatus at specified locations, adhering to a predetermined schedule and verbal directives to ensure optimal performance.
  • Reports any malfunctioning or non-operational equipment to the Rig Electrician. Performs repairs on such devices when instructed, including but not limited to air conditioning systems, refrigeration units, lighting fixtures, and electric motor belts. Monitors and replenishes battery levels as required.
  • Engages in troubleshooting breakdowns by assisting in the isolation and disassembly of equipment utilizing appropriate tools such as pullers and bearing presses.
  • Assists in the installation of electrical and telecommunication cables, becoming acquainted with the necessary documentation and schematics that must be updated following each task.
  • Participates in rig relocation activities by verifying items on the rig move preparation checklist and aids in the disconnection and reconnection of electrical systems as directed. Remains available to provide power support when needed.
  • Adheres to the Company's integrated Health, Safety, and Environmental Program, as well as the Asset Integrity Management Systems outlined in the relevant documentation.
  • Performs additional tasks as assigned, such as powering down or powering up equipment upon request, and cleaning lighting fixtures and electrical panels.
  • Complies with all applicable UAE regulations, ADNOC standards, ADNOC Drilling protocols, and client Asset Integrity Management guidelines.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

  • Completion of Secondary education (12 years) followed by 2 years of full-time study culminating in a Diploma in Electrical Technology.
