Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Offshore Structural Design Engineer to join our team at Wood.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with a team of engineers and designers to deliver civil and structural design calculations and drawings within specified timelines.
  • Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of structural analysis, including in-place, preservice, spectral fatigue, seismic, pushover, and jacket mating for fixed platform structures, as well as in-place, lifting, transit, and blast conditions for offshore structures.
  • Provide guidance and instruction to junior engineers on secondary and miscellaneous calculations, and designers on detailing and drawing.
  • Prepare specifications for design basis reports and soil investigations in accordance with project requirements.
  • Participate in cross-functional teamwork to optimize layouts and general arrangements of structures, vendor drawings, and foundation loads.
  • Coordinate with other departments, projects teams, and site teams to obtain inputs and comments on civil and structural drawings prior to submission for client approval.
  • Engage in technical discussions with subcontractor consultants to review and approve drawings and design calculations.
  • Utilize industry software, including 3D model review tools (SPR and Navis Works), and MS Office Suite.
  • Review geotechnical reports and interpret soil parameters for analysis and design of shallow and pile foundations.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings with site teams, vendors, review consultants, and clients to resolve technical issues and prioritize engineering activities to meet project schedules.
  • Evaluate supplier and subcontractor bids for compliance with COMPANY specifications and scopes of work.
  • Conduct site visits to resolve construction problems and site mismatches with respect to issued drawings.
  • Provide pre-bid engineering support by calculating architectural, civil, and structural BOQs.
