About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Planning Engineer to join our team at GHD. As a key member of our Construction Management group, you will be responsible for developing and implementing efficient planning functions, including work breakdown structures, master schedule reviews, and progress measurement systems.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Planning and Scheduling: Develop and implement efficient planning functions, including work breakdown structures, master schedule reviews, and progress measurement systems.
  2. Schedule/Progress Reviews: Review and provide recommendations for approval and/or comments on the contractor's schedule submissions, relying on relevant contract terms & conditions and GHD's best practices.
  3. Project Status Reporting: Produce project status reports and manage project dashboards to ensure timely and accurate information.
  4. Project Coordination: Liaise with Project Management to support teams and monitor performance to ensure adherence to standards and procedures.
  5. Time Extension Claims: Review and analyze time extension claims, forensic analysis of schedules, risk analysis, and continuous improvement strategies.
  6. Engineering and Construction Knowledge: Understand and apply engineering, procurement, and construction terminology, concepts, and relationships.
  7. Critical Path Logic Networks: Develop and maintain critical path logic networks and bar charts utilizing this information.
  8. Progress Updates: Review contractor's schedule/progress updates, and weekly and monthly progress reports, validating the accuracy of progress data in coordination with the site team.
  9. Deviations and Deficiencies: Record any deviations and/or deficiencies in the progress of works, and draft notification letters to contractors highlighting the areas of concern in terms of factors affecting the schedule/progress of the works.
  10. Progress Presentations: Lead the development of GHD's weekly & monthly progress reports and progress presentations, taking the lead for all schedule/progress related data, and coordinating with the project team to collate other inputs (quality, safety, commercial, etc).
  11. Meetings and Presentations: Present progress status at meetings and provide input/details on the project program as part of time impact analysis and claims determination.
  12. Reporting and Analytics: Generate tabular and graphic reports for baseline targets and actual earned values and forecasting.
  13. Technological Advancements: Pursue the implementation of technological advancements and digital innovations in the field of planning, monitoring, and record keeping.
About You

Qualifications
  1. Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management or related field (or equivalent experience).
  2. 10+ years of related work experience.
  3. Requires basic engineering knowledge in electrical, mechanical, civil, or a related field.
  4. Proficient PC skills including proficiency in various Project Controls software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  5. Strong level of working knowledge with Primavera (Certification as a Primavera Planner Professional is needed).
  6. MMUP accreditation and experience of minimum 5 years in the role of planning & project control.
  7. Competencies in working with PIMBOK Revision 5 (PMI registration will be well regarded).
