Job Title: Drainage Engineer

Parsons Oman is seeking a highly skilled Drainage Engineer to lead the design of stormwater drainage systems for various projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Develop and implement stormwater drainage designs for complex environments, ensuring compliance with site-specific requirements.
  2. Manage the design of non-conventional and sustainable drainage systems, incorporating innovative ideas and technology.
  3. Investigate and develop stormwater drainage designs with minimum supervision, applying principles of urban drainage design, SuDS, and Water Sensitive Design.
  4. Undertake hydrologic modeling, calculations, drawings, and report writing, utilizing software packages such as CAD, SWMM, HEC RAS, and HEC-HMS.
  5. Provide supervision and support to junior engineers, promoting a collegiate and team-player attitude.
  6. Coordinate with CAD/BIM/3-D modeling teams on projects, ensuring seamless integration and effective communication.

Requirements:

  1. Degree in Civil Engineering from a reputable university; a Master's Degree in Water Engineering/Hydrology would be an advantage.
  2. Chartered Engineer (CEng) qualified (or equivalent) or well-progressed towards qualification.
  3. Candidates working towards professional qualifications (PE, ICE, CIWEM, etc.) will be preferred.
  4. Minimum 6 years of experience related to infrastructure and civil engineering projects, water engineering, including stormwater drainage design, catchment analysis, stormwater management, and planning.
  5. Sound knowledge of principles of hydrology and hydraulics, with experience in designing culverts, urban drainage systems, and highway drainage.
  6. Excellent command of GIS and CAD tools such as ArcMap, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microstation.
  7. Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to create calculation sheets and perform further calculations as required.
  8. A collegiate, team-player attitude, with excellent organizational skills and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
