Job Objectives

  • Offering reliable technical guidance and solutions to a variety of technical challenges within the discipline
  • Collaborating with other disciplines throughout all phases of design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and startup
  • Providing technical assistance to site operations as needed
  • Creating and evaluating specifications, data sheets, schedules, study reports, and design calculations; ensuring compliance with engineering quality, competence, and project management standards

Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities

  • Participating in client meetings and addressing issues with the lead engineer as necessary
  • Interacting with team members in a constructive and professional manner at all times
  • Complying with relevant discipline-specific procedures and contributing feedback for ongoing improvement
  • Taking part in audits and incident investigations as required
  • Actively maintaining personal competence in accordance with standards and pursuing continuous professional development
  • Staying informed about the relevant regulatory framework, legislative changes, initiatives, and advancements in industry technology
  • Possessing a comprehensive understanding of the fundamentals of Technical Safety engineering methodologies, software systems, and design practices as they pertain to FEED, Detail Design, Construction, Commissioning, and plant Startup
  • Having a thorough awareness of international codes and standards
  • Demonstrating experience with design deliverables related to loss prevention scopes
  • Exhibiting experience in coordinating HAZOP, HAZID, and SIL Classification studies
  • Directing Management of Change (MOC) reviews as necessary
  • Capable of performing Physical Hazard Effects (PHE) modeling as required
  • Able to analyze and review Quantitative Risk Assessments (QRA) as necessary
  • Acting as a deputy for the lead engineer when required
  • Achieving assigned personal objectives
  • Managing third-party suppliers in the execution of engineering delivery
  • Demonstrating flexibility and adaptability
  • Exhibiting a strong commitment to safety

Qualifications

  • BSc, BEng or equivalent with extensive relevant experience
  • Experience in Concept / FEED project phases
  • Demonstrable balance of industrial experience at a relevant level and position
  • Minimum of 15 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas sector
  • At least 6 years of proven capability in an EPC environment
  • Previous experience in site-based project work involving field engineering, construction, commissioning, operations, or maintenance is advantageous
  • Experience working with multinational and multicultural project teams is highly preferred
  • Prior experience in the Middle East is considered an advantage
